tbf it felt like a 270 nil defeat
He’s very pragmatic or risk averse and that will not excite anyone for very long - prioritizing shape & structure over flair, so either too cautious or too pragmatic
For fans, difficult and rarely thrilling but this is the philosophy of someone who grinds results out with stability in mind
He's shown he's no longer the right manager
Not the same at all. Di Matteo came in for a couple of months, and took over a team underperforming in the league but having not finished outside the top 3 in the last 8 seasons. There is such a thing as being lucky and in the right place at the right time. Roberto Di Matteo won the Champions League!
He has really wound you up over that cup thing the other night hasn't he?He's shown he's no longer the right manager
Jesus Christ. He's shown he's no longer the right manager

I'm not his biggest fan by any stretch but we should just leave him for the moment, see what goes down over the course of the season, I hate the idea of changing managers during mid season unless its an absolute must.

It hasn't changed, we don't have a deep enough squad, and we don't have enough quality. I would say there are probably 4 or 5 worse squads in the division. If the teams were all managed by the same manager we would come 15th, so that's the benchmark for me for this season. I have no expectations for Moyes to win a trophy, if we can play some decent football, go nowhere near the relegation zone, keep our few decent players, develop a couple and buy some more players with promise next summer I will be satisfied. In my view, Moyes' job is to leave us in 2 years or so stronger than he found us, having laid the foundations for a successful team.Would be a bit strange five league games into the season to dump the manager that's just signed

Remember 6 weeks ago all the transfer mithering, "we've not got a deep enough squad", "there's not enough quality", "oh woe is us"...
How quickly the mithering changes onto another subject. What's next?
New manager bounce. I'm not a big Moyes fan but he did a cracking job with that squad. We also lost a lot of players in the summer. We need a bit of stability, I wouldn't see 15th as a big backwards step any more than I would see 11th as a massive leap forward. But we finished 13th last season with a worse first eleven, a much worse squad, and a manager that had run out of steam by January.
15th would be a severe backward step.
I want top half at a minimum. I realise he's a top striker short at the moment, but it seems a few sides are. The likes of Yakubu are no longer knocking around in the championship, those days are gone.New manager bounce. I'm not a big Moyes fan but he did a cracking job with that squad. He's a top striker and 2 full backs and at least one central midfielder short and that's just the first 11. It's a 16 player game these days and we're about 7 or 8 players short of a top 8 squad in that respect.I want top half at a minimum.
