I'm old enough to not need to have mad designer stuff but I have brands that I enjoy the designs and know the fit well.

Pretty much everything casual is adidas, love the terrex stuff for harsher weather.

Wear Gap chinos to work daily.

Shirts, I go short sleeve generally, Gap or Farah.

Mostly wear polo shirts day to day - Pretty Green generally.

Plain t shirts get from Primark, underwear I've been buying bamboo boxers from Temu.

Use disposable razors and Proraso aftershave.

I'm pretty happy like this, if I find other things I like then great, if not so be it.

Are you an avid follower of fashion, taking pride in one's appearance and turning out subtly dapper?

Or are you proudly letting it all out in years old ath-leisure and blim-holed t-shirts?

Please discuss the pros, cons, and stereotypes of each life and style choice.
I’ve been getting grief off the Mrs about always choosing the latter. Had to have a word with myself recently and bought some new clothes/had new clothes bought for me. Mind you, I still set aside plenty of time for old trackies and T-shirts with paint and grease stains all over them.

I wear what I like the look of whether it's in fashion or not. Give me flared jeans and an Adidas originals sweatshirt and I'm happy. All my clothes come from charity shops mainly. There's no vanity in my head, but I keep clean and smell free. I don't need to pose - my appearance is not a crutch for my self-esteem. I can scrub up when I need to mind.

When I was young and naive (and didn't yet understand I was not rich and was also aesthetically subpar) I used to browse GQ and think to myself, "Self, one day you'll look sharp just like this men of indistinguishable sexuality."

Turns out, I live in a part of the world that's so hot and humid all one can do most days is wear shorts and a tee shirt and wonder what sort of undergarments will help unstick the downbelows from your own leg.

You must have a good washing machine/detergent.

But as it goes, if I had my choice most days I'd wear jeans, comfortable shoes, and a hoodie or crew sweater top. So I'd be a near-50s bald male, dressed just the same as a high school girl.

So it's Tramp for me.

I've dressed the same for the last 30 years, which is always a long-sleeve button-down collared shirt (i.e. Oxford) and pants (usually never jeans). I don't wear t-shirts (except when running or playing sports) and I hate golf shirts.

No tee under the Oxford? By no golf shirts, does that mean no polos of any kind or just that style*? What short of shoes also?

*I bought a Johnnie O shirt from the campus store when dropping off Son1 at college and it's the nicest, most comfortable shirt I've ever owned. And with only 5 more payments I'll own it outright.

In the winter a white v-neck t-shirt under the Oxford, in the summer an oxford, short pants, no t-shirt underneath (usually Tevas). And, for me, no...no polo of any kind--I just don't like that look on me. As for shoes, usually sneakers (old running shoes that I no longer run in: asics or New Balance) or Allbirds, but also some dressier shoes (John Fluevog) or Blundstone boots. I usually have the sleeves rolled up a bit on the Oxfords and they are always long-sleeve.
