Match Thread Wolves v Everton (Carabao Cup 3rd Round) 23rd September 19:45

Agree with the feeling that this represents a real chance to bury the disapointment of Sunday. Hell, I'd even like us to beat wolves and then be drawn the RS at HD stadium. Payback would be sweet. Knowing our luck however, it'll be at Pish mountain again....

Full strength, please. We've just had an international break where very few of our players played, we don't have European football meaning most weeks we're only playing one match, we should be able to play a full strength side twice a week, once a month. Smash these black country bells and then get Potter the sack. That's the best way to move on from losing in the derby, again.

Very likely, but each game as it comes.

Everton might not be 30 years without a trophy had we actually won the matches against the lower-league and inferior sides we were drawn against over the last three decades.

The Sky Six are not the problem. Losing on penalties at home to the likes of Fulham when we had a pen to win it and crashing out to lower league sides has been the bigger issue.
Twice in the last decade years we've lost to Championship clubs. That's obviously twice too many, but we also lost to Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea in that period.

The rest is made up of teams we really should be putting to the sword if we want to win the competition - Fulham, Bournemouth, Leicester, Southampton, Swansea.

I think we really need to get away from the idea of just having a first choice XI which is the best team to play every single week forever, that just isn't really how it works. We haven't just paid £40m for Dibling for him to sit on the bench for the entire season because we decided what our first choice team was going to be in August and stuck with it.
