MOTD Shame

MOTD is dead, has been for years, Koppite love fest.
Football's dead it has been for years.

A deal has obviously been done to get Liverpool another period of domination.

Sometimes it's obvious - like handing out penalties or sending opposition players off to hand them the game; sometimes it's more subtle - like breaking up the flow of play of opponents who are threatening to take points off Liverpool or by denying them time added on to do so, as happened yesterday.

This season is done already. And I expect probably another 2 titles for them in the next 3 seasons too. They'll take one off them to maintain the veneer of a 'competitive' league.

...and no one will question it because the whole industry has an omertà concerning it.

The greatest tragedy in football in recent years was that the Euro Super League wasn't allowed to happen. That would have cleansed football in this country. And it didn't happen because the fans of the elite clubs who were going to leave for that league realised better than their short-sighted owners that the gravy train would have been derailed forever in their chase for a quick massive profit.

But that threat is passed now, so we better get used to just playing at a better stadium with no real hope of progress on the pitch unless we're bought out by Saudis or some other oil rich state.

Of course they aren’t going to show anything negative about the RS.

Talking about how much PGMOL seem to need to hold their hand in EVERY game highlights just how absolutely bang average they are.

Congrats kopites you are being airlifted to another title. And they aren’t even trying to hide it anymore.
A few teams have had flying starts to seasons only for the wheels to come off at the business end. It would be very sweet if it were to happen the RS this season. We`ll know how strong this RS team is and how good Slot is when their luck runs out. Just need a team to put them under pressure in the PL and not fade away like Arsenal did last season and give it to them easy.

MOTD is shocking and haven`t watched it in 20 years. Only switch on to games at KO so I don`t have to listen the waffle that some of the pundits come out with, which makes for a more enjoyable experience.

When their luck runs out the officials step in. That's what they're there for. It's happened already this season on many occasions.

We were forcing corners having free kicks in good positions one centre by grealish almost found Obrian at the back post so we were building pressure and if we’d have had 3-4 mins more we’d have had more pressure which may have led to a centre half getting on the end of a cross ,they had nothing except counter attacks

Glad I haven't watched it in over 2 decades now. Waste of time, too much blather and always has clear favourites.

Bring back Jimjy Hill!
Yup. I wanted to give it a chance this season, but, no, it's unwatchable. I can't get beyond Match of the Day with Jimmy Hill or The Big Match with Brian Moore. In fact, I watched the latter last night instead featuring Everton throwing away a 3-1 lead at home to Ipswich Town in 1975/76. The difference in how the viewer is treated jumps out at you. Instead of Kenny's offspring trying to be "Lineker smart" and Danny Murphy being Danny Murphy, you just feel like you are in the company of empathetic intelligence with Brian Moore. The dumbing down of TV rarely seemed so starkly illustrated.

Spot on. The Super League would have been great. Let all the greedy gits go and the rest of us could have had a genuinely competetive league.

The RS have one thing that no-one else in the league has and that's consistency. They are nowhere near as good quality wise as Klopps outfit when they had Mane, peak Salah and Firmino but unlike those days when they had to compete again peak Sportwashers (City) their nearest rivals now are injury prone and flaky Arsenal
Yup. Klopp's side would bury these. Sadly, LegoMan at Arsenal is about as stiff as the opposition is today.
