2025/26 David Moyes

moyes does what you see on the can keep you up good for a finish in top 10 but if everton want to get back into the top 6 in england moyes aint your man to do it. his press confrence was defeat .

I remember when people thought this after he left. We spent a lot of money and ended up doing a whole lot worse.

Losing 2-1 against the champions, who haven't lost at home in a year and have won every game this season is a very normal result. The first half an hour was atrocious. After that, it's arguably the best we've played at Anfield since the Pickford debacle under Silva.

I like Moyes, but he's the Biggest defeatist manager going against the big teams. He's more negative then Dyche, but not as cute as Fat Sam to get things ugly. One day if Moyes learns subs and finds half a bollock he will be boss...rather than just good.

Just making things up. The last two times we played Liverpool under Dyche we had 23% possession. I don't even need to check yesterday to know it was so much higher.

Factor in unbalanced officiating in favour of opposition. Can see no reason apart from fairly big lenghy injury list why this squad cannot challenge for European places after that performance.

If the European places drop down the table we have a chance. Full back, central midfield and up front are all positions I worry about but there's enough in this squad to keep us in and around the top 8.

What fear?

Am I watching different games? We have played every game on the front foot, sure we got a bit slapped in the first half yesterday, but we arent playing with fear.
Think others have answered for me - Leeds and yesterday first half were fear driven performances.

Davey has still done a great job since coming back, but there is more he can do.

His interview was class after the game as well, calling out the corruption.

Could Leeds be that we just weren't very good following on from a poor pre season? Could Liverpool just be one of the best teams in the world right now?

Every time we lose a game under Moyes it's either he's bottled it or we've played with fear. I just think they're very normal results for a team like us that are getting better but aren't quite there yet.

no i’m saying going 2-0 down

isn’t sheeting your kecks

as it’s not
"The first half was poor,  WE accept that, and  WE probably tactically didn't get it as right as  WE should have done."

we, we, we, ?????

There's only one person who sets the tactics from the Kick Off - The Manager

Oui?

...and the players had to have a word with him at Half Time.

Spot On

Theres more he Should Do, does he have it in his locker  To do it though 🤔

These allegations may or may not be true (or provable) - But they do serve as a handy Deflector shield for a poor performance

The mad thing is our conservative goofball approach in the first half is exactly what's been hurting them this season as they haven't been able to handle it, it didn't work for us and in hindsight we should have gone about it differently but it wasn't necessarily the wrong game plan.

We're gonna do alright this season

Don't win the next two games and this 'great start' to the season will look like a pretty poor one.

Sunderland and Bournemouth above us with a game fewer played, Leeds level, below Palace and Fulham — all teams most of us assumed we've be able to comfortably finish above this season.

It's absolutely imperative we beat West Ham and Palace at home, nothing else will do.

Moves is ok if all you want is to continue to exist in the Premier League. But, if our new owners are serious about us winning things, then a manager who has failed to win against them at their place in 23 attempts is living g on borrowed time that should have expired about 13 (at least) attempts ago. Add to that his similar failures against Man U, Chelsea and (possibly) Arsenal - I can't be bothered to check - and they really should be actively looking for someone else

Only wanted Moyes as an interim manager and his style of play is why.
He knows we need left and right backs yet let’s upgrade such as Lampty and Tete go elsewhere.
He knew we needed a goward NOW but bought one for the future.

This is managerial incompetence and coupled with our DoF already stating the January window is a no no we are stuck with what we have.

Alcatraz didn’t really show enough last season to warrant his signing but we did.

We have a young forward banging them in but apparently he is too young? As opposed to the older Beto and Barry who can’t hit a cows arse with a shovel?
One’s injury prone, the other got offered a great deal but chose to stay where he was

Not getting a win at a top six club for Moyes is the expected result.

Need 6 points from next two to keep momentum going. Otherwise it’s turning into an average to poor start. If we go out the cup, lost the derby, and have passed up a few gifts at home to put us in the bottom half then he’ll start to invite pressure that doesn’t need to be there.

Start games properly, make subs earlier, and the players need to play with more conviction, there’s just no reason to be mishitting shots all the time and being tentative.
