2025/26 David Moyes

It never ceases to amaze me how a select bunch of posters, post nothing at all during the week, nothing at all after a win, but after a defeat they post more times than Dave after Keir Starmer has been gifted a new set of specs.
Baffled what people think he could have done differently, he played the same side that has started the season well, Big Red scored 2 good goals, we got back into it 2nd half but we couldnt close the gap.

From the comments im reading you would think we played a back 8 and didnt leave our half.

or have liverpool pinned on the 6 yard box 🙄

I agree he put out the side that has been successful. If I could change one tactic to how we’ve been doing it, that would be to stop with the long balls to Beto. Liverpool was all over it. They knew it was coming. And the pitch was too slick for anything that wasn’t at a high arc. It just went out of touch. I’m not sure about having another player up top with him would do it. But as others have stated, having Illy on left and Dibling on right with Jack free to roam and be creative with Beto instead of just KDH would’ve given something for Liverpool to think about.

Yeah, considering this is like the only match they've won without needing Fergie time doesn't really support your claim here.
As said previously we will see at end of season. But to me this is akin to United 07-09, Arsenal 02/04, Chelsea 04/06 and city 18/24, they’re the worst of those but still top 5

What did he say?
The bigger thing is the game seemed to be controlled by the referee, we couldn't start anything quickly. We couldn't play. I have had played plenty of games where teams have taken quick free-kicks and it hasn't been the referees' whistle.

"He never allowed us to get the game under way fast when we wanted to. I found it strange there was only three minutes [of stoppage time] . If Liverpool were 2-0 down I'm not sure if three minutes would have been put up."

Our record there is more to do with finance than Moyes. I think Spurs have an even worse record than us over the past 25 years despite their spending, CL qualifications etc.
We don't have the luxury of being under estimated in a derby like a few clubs that occasionally get a win there. We simply need to add quality over next couple of years and we can do better but that'll be down to TFG.

You'd also think we were up against a mid table side rather than the run away league leaders.
