2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Yeah, I think its been clear they work well together, Grealish likes holidng up the ball and pulling in an extra defender, and KDH likes to use his pace to exploit the space. Im not sure Id pull him out either, though I do really like Alcaraz. In matches where we expect to play on the back foot alot is where Id play Alcaraz instead for his physicality and energy.

You say that and clearly Grealish has 2 men on him every game, sometimes 3.

But its not as if hes releasing the ball early to combine with KDH.

KDH to me looks much better deeper, I dont see a 10 there in any way shape or form for the majority of the time hes on the pitch hes way too advanced.

Perhaps next season Gana is replaced with a top 6 and we go for a 6 and 2 8s in some games and a 10 in others, he wouldnt be my choice at 10 though.

For those who do see a 10, wheres the penetration every match as Im defintely missing it.

He really couldn’t, he’s awful in possession and can’t hold his position out of it. No idea what you see in him.
He isn’t awful in possession and this idea that he can’t hold his position is exaggerated imo, especially since Moyes has came back, he’s been our deepest midfielder and he’s obviously done that job very well.

I worry for when he goes away to AFCON.

Yeah i dont see him as a 10 at all is a mix really as i dont think he does much defensively . Feel is more a 3 just today was abit unbalanced and we just dont have a player who is demanding the ball in the middle. I do like kdh think will get the goals and is a good link up player

Being expected to play two positions simultaneously. Needs a partner in crime and we just aint clicking right in the middle. Either he is doucoure and pressing and harassing, or we change it up. He isn't being helped by a very one dimensional beto not being as physical and not making the sprints he needs to to pull defenders into certain areas.
There is hesitancy between gana and an other (garner) about who backs him up, because sides easily move the ball and the press is done.
I understand this because if two advance, they break and it's many vs one in midfield breaking on the defence.
A defence I add that is playing a little higher than it's used to.

Something is missing, confidence, commitment, defensive frailty, I do not know, but it's the stumbling block we keep finding. We're two sides, an attack and a defence. There's no fluidity to join them currently.

Bit of an inbetweener, clearly very clever, and can see Grealish slipping him past the defences plenty over the season.

I do wonder if he can play deeper against weaker teams to allow Ndiaye to be central

How is this thread already succumbing to leaches, ready to pounce. The lad has fitted in perfectly, he's got the quality the work ethics and he's on the same wavelength as players like Jack, garner + Ndiaye..

The number/position relating to his place on the pitch, is this even a worth it debate. The lads in the team for a reason and he deserves his spot..
