He's a disciplinarian and a mood manager. He can inject that into teams, but as you say, I've yet to see any evidence where he can set up a team and change it quickly when it needs quickly changing.not just a coward but he never seems to have a plan to win them.
he gets the excuses in before the game, attempts to sit in at the beginning until we concede, then decides to have a go afterwards in an inevitably plucky defeat. it's almost scripted at this point.
why can't he put a tactical plan in place to win one of these games? it's more than just a lack of confidence and courage I think, it's also a lack of creativity and tactical nous.
for all of the weaknesses of his tenure, there's a reason why it's only been Ancelotti that's managed to win there since the 90s. it's because he could put together a tangible plan and way of winning.
He's just not that much of a thinker about the game. Some managers rely on motivation alone, some managers do motivation + tactical awareness. Moyes is firmly in the former camp and always willl be, He looks to have learned nothing since leaving here.
We have a very handy attacking team now and we deserve so much better than Moyes in control of how they play (or dont play, rather).
