2025/26 David Moyes

Not good enough.

1 Barry should start over Beto. Those silly "beto has more goal" are nonsense. Beto scored some sitters. But Barry movement gave us much more up front.

2 It is astonished to me that he has not design some pattern to let 18/22/10 exchange positions to get away from the makers. Instead just sit and watch the wingers got doubled or tripled.

3 Terrible game management. No plan whatsoever for the last 20mins.

To me the obvious option Dibling has to be a regular sub. Ether a straight right winger sub or move 10 to left & 18 to middle, sub off 22 or drop 22 deeper into CM. Dibling left footed will add goal scoring opportunities from the right.

4 Next two games are must win.

They are the league winners who've just spent £500m. We are starting to rebuild after years of mismanagement. We have made some very good signings and we are short in a couple of areas. Thats to be expected and its moyes first transfer window. Now this game today. We played really well at times and were the better team when we started playing to our good signings strengths didnt we. It was 2-0 though. We actually passed through midfield. Got grealish on the ball and played football. The first half hour of that match even at 0-0 we werent even attempting to play. It was pickford knocking goal kicks long giving it away then backing right off them and not getting near to them to attemt a tackle. Even though theres 10 men behind the ball. Moyes got it wrong. Badly. Its like he hasnt watched them play. Every team has had a go at them. Theyve won games against 10 men or with a penalty or in added time on top of added time. We were too timid and let them waltz through us. As for good halftime team talks the match started 45 minutes ago couldve done with it then really.

They're the champions, they haven't lost at home for a year and we have so many fans feeling like today was a missed opportunity. Nothing wrong with high standards I guess.

It's nice that we have the aspiration to just say next two games are a must win. Under Dyche and Lampard we'd wait 2 months for a single one.

How many times have we conceded a couple of early goals at anfield and the floodgates have opened?

Today’s first half was disappointing but that 2nd half performance was brilliant. Moyes played it right today. Unlucky we were away to the champions.

He set them up to allow Liverpool to attack us. Then we're facing an uphill battle.

Not sure how that was "right" or how he was "brilliant" today.

That's just anti-football dressed up as canny pragmatism.

Moyes in his first 11 seasons here underlined he will never ever go for it.

He's a coward in big games and just proved it again.
not just a coward but he never seems to have a plan to win them.

he gets the excuses in before the game, attempts to sit in at the beginning until we concede, then decides to have a go afterwards in an inevitably plucky defeat. it's almost scripted at this point.

why can't he put a tactical plan in place to win one of these games? it's more than just a lack of confidence and courage I think, it's also a lack of creativity and tactical nous.

for all of the weaknesses of his tenure, there's a reason why it's only been Ancelotti that's managed to win there since the 90s. it's because he could put together a tangible plan and way of winning.

They got the better of us for 35 mins 😂

By far the better team for the rest of the game.

Our manager is a striker short of having us challenging for sliverware.

He had Slot and his billion pound first 11 flapping.

There it is right there. Agree with all points, mate. Sometime age brings wisdom and experience. But eventually it brings rigidity and sort of a tiredness to try new things. Managers that are too young take lots of risks that backfire. Older ones can’t see the obvious things to change when everyone else can. We spent too many years watching dinosaur tactics. We have really nice new pieces but they’re getting dusty.

Some great observations mate. You're spot on with fact we need to be more fluent and flexible up front. Too predictable and one dimensional.
