I think oftentimes that is correct, but let's be honest, we spend a lot of money right behind him and to expect them to constantly kick 50/50 balls into space for him is not logical.
I'm not arguing that we should do that and I did say that's not the type of way to play against Liverpool

Well...I woke up at 7am today so I could watch the match. It seemed to me that Liverpool was in complete control for most of the first half, and Everton didn't do enough when Liverpool got a bit disconnected for the first maybe 30 minutes of the second half. The announcers were talking about Liverpool's defensive woes, but they seemed to be a nuisance for the Everton attack. Still nice to see that goal in the second half, and Everton not allowing another goal.

Also, is it me, or does Graelish seem to fall down a lot?
Yeah, after he’s fouled

Think O’Brien was allright today. And was getting forward well. Myko put in a fair few crosses as well.

However when Beto was on the pitch, we literally had no one attacking the space their Cbs was in for every cross. Every single time their cbs just had free headers.

I agree the subs should have been made 10 mins earlier, but realistically, it’s hard to know who to take off. Because Ndiaye can make something out of nothing, KDH supports or fairly weak midfield, and grealish is Grealish.

Barry has to start moving forwards. We look much better with him.
Ndiaye and KDH were yellow carded. Easy options for me. KDH ran out of steam and no longer really effective in the final 3rd after 60min. Should put someone else in no 10 role either sub him off or drop him deeper. Same issues in the last game as well. Moyes a bit too hesitate to change the no 10 position.

Liverpool have lost leads this season but the opening 30 minutes was a disaster and it was a mountain to climb after that. So many good things in these opening weeks but goal scoring is an issue.

If either striker can get themselves in the right positions there's going to be chances galore. Today was always going to be difficult and Villa played very negatively. Hopefully we see the goals fly in from now like they did against Wolves.

I tend to think it’s less about the CF and more about our lack of fullbacks that are confident in possession. Improving our options at LB & RB makes us a team challenging for Europe.
The sooner the better.

The other teams will study and copy this trick. They will double on our wingers and it will hurt us going forward. FBs with decent cross and pace needed during winter.
