She’s in town for a book signing today. Coincidence? I think not….

Just been watching it. He speaks really well and it was a good interview. In the first couple of minutes it was an interesting reflection of the modern game in that he acknowledged that it's weird to hear from a CEO as ideally they should be operating in the background with little attention but the media around the game now is as such that it's important to engage with the fanbase and through independent channels where they are challenged perhaps, rather than through the club which can end up being a puff piece.

Thought he came across well. A good communicator and has clarity of thought and expression.

You can read too much into these things but on the face of it, this was a good thing for him to do and a worthwhile exercise overall.

Good to hear from him on the extent of the Friedkin involvement and engagement in particular.

Interesting how much he seems to have been responsible for - or at least he’s claiming credit for.

He suggests that the structure of the football operation, with the replacement of the director of football with the flatter structure, was his idea.

Also noteworthy that the analytics firm Insight Sports was bought by the Friedkins after he recommended we work with them.

They certainly seem to trust their CEO - which is how it should be.
