Fine folk storytellers. They were the 2nd band I saw live at a 'big' venue, Liverpool Empire 1974. Your post reminded me of this from them (in their home town in 1976).

I quite like slowdive..

Interpol has been my personal favourite so far (turn on the bright lights). From start to finish, that album has been dipped in pure gold.

Really enjoyed Slowdive as well.

American football is a staple of autumn for me.

My son thinks its an absolute pearler and was slagging me off as I gave it a 6.6

The mix of the album is excellent considering their age and its really tight with some nice melodies. But it genuinely felt like 1 very long song and not much separation from the feel of one song to the next.

I'm really harsh though when it comes to my own demands of what I want from an album and where I feel it places me at that particular moment. My lad said it sounds better listenting to it at night compared to 8:30am

Both are good, interpol did another called Elpintor. Highly recommend if you like turn on the bright lights,
