Match Thread Liverpool V Everton 20th September 12:30

In life, I generally enjoy an optimistic perspective: two significant departures from that disposition are Everton games vs Man U and Everton games vs Liverpool. And sadly, I see a controversial decision deciding our loss this impending derby...1-0 to the bad guys.

I think the ambiguity is a good reason for us not to do it to be honest. We know the background but most people don’t, and the optics aren’t great because of that.

Well that's down to you. Everyone knows we wouldn't call them that over your ambiguity.

Saying that doesn't help the cause.

Exactly, I live down South now so am maybe more sensitive but the prevailing view outside of the City is that all scousers are victims wallowing in self pity. Boris Johnston said as much and I've heard it countless times. I'd prefer it if Evertonians didn't perpetuate the myth. Somethings are more important than football

Everyone on here knows it, if you think everyone in the world knows it you’re living in cloud cuckoo land. Personally I’d rather there was no ambiguity and people across the world didn’t think we were despicable scumbags, but you do you.

I've heard people on here refer to them as [Phrase removed] which is equally as crass so I wouldn't be so sure all Evertonians know where to draw the line. But I get the sense that there's no point talking to you on this matter. Your general attitude isn't open and reaks of aggression.

how long can the bad guys keep getting late winners

this time the good guys triumph with a solitary late goal

I'm confident that we'll do well, plenty of players who aren't burdened by the stench of failure when playing the RS.

we saw the likes of Alcaraz, beto and Ndiaye playing without fear last season against the RS
now we have Grealish and kdh which makes me quietly confident

still more than half the team tho accustomed to derby defeats esp away in recent seasons

Another late show by them after throwing away another 2 goal lead. They do seem to have a way of getting over the line with a win at the death, very similar to the United team under Ferguson, they never stopped till the final minute of injury time. Tarks will be well watched this time out and I could see him getting a soft red card. Pre-match coverage almost certain to make something of that challenge in last seasons game while ignoring the amount of lapses at the back their 300k a week lead defense has had so far. We may put in a good performance, but I see another RS win.

Stopped watching derbies about 10 years ago due to the stress it brought and always feel the better for not watching it. I`ll be focused on the mid week cup game and will be ignoring football again over the weekend, hope the players are fully tuned in at the weekend and have us going to Wolves with a serious swagger mid week.

3-1 us

Nothing to lose , they al always get the happy ending . So for once let’s go there and just play what’s infront of us. The ref will no doubt bow down to Van djiks cry arsing. The two at the back aren’t very good and neither is the keeper. Long range shots from distance and just don’t let them bulid go any steam.

Grealish to slot 2 and Keane. Right into the horrible rats
