New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

So coming to my first game vs West Ham. Just trying to figure out logistics as had to take a day and a half toil due to the time and the travel.

Planning to stay in formby. I’m fine getting to the ground, but now there’s been a couple of games, just how busy/slow is getting the train afterwards at Sandhills? (Obviously it’s first evening game so that may throw up some hiccups).

Better walking to town

Why would you stay in formby? It’s like a mission away.

Campsite in my van. It’s only 20 mins on train from Sandhills, which is easier than the 4 hour drive to get home at that time of night.
It’s 30 mins walk to Moorfields, the only advantage you will have is that you would be getting on to a less crowded train there, it will fill up at Sandhills, I’d suggest you keep an eye on Merseyrail website to see if they are running additional services after the game.

I’ve done Sandhills on Southport line for every game so far and it’s been surprisingly good. I have never waited more than 15 minutes for a train. Loads of staff and very efficient. They queue you in a pen but then load up the platform when the train is due. They have usually had one or two trains that start at Sandhills empty as well instead of going from Central. I am in upper east so easy to get out and I walk briskly but I do not leave before the final whistle. I don’t see how you’ll gain anything walking to Central or Moorfields if you’re going North.

Obviously if there’s a trespasser or technical issue it will all go to pot but if it’s working ok then it’s been great.

Grandson has a junior foreverblue 11-17 in his name so over 11 seems able to.
You're not allowed in stadium under 16 unless accompanied by an adult though.
I just asked a couple of guys in the queue "can he say he's with you if he gets pulled"
But he was ok, just walked in

really? i had a season ticket on my own when i was 13. going through a turnstile at goodison a bit different to going into the complex that is bmd though

It's not the first night game ,that was Mansfield. You could maybe walk to Old Hall St. ( Moorfields ) and get a train before the hordes get on at Sandhills but it's as broad as it's long really.
