Travel thread 3.0

Off to South-East Turkey on Saturday visiting the museums and ancient sites in and around the cities of Diyarbakir, Mardin, Sanliurfa & Gazientep. Will chill out the last 3 days in one of my favourite places - the village of Cirali, along the coast West of Antalya. Lots to do and see, will probably need another holiday to recover.

I started researching a trip like this last year. interested to hear how it all goes, have a great time

Interesting, I was there in 2019 and never felt sketched out. Must have gotten a lot worse since COVID, heading to Detroit in a month, should be interesting

Detroit is great. We are a welcoming people. Plenty of places to eat, drink, and be merry. You won't find any trouble unless you look for it.

Every big US city I’ve visited has mad rough areas in downtown. New York not so bad due to enthusiastic policing I think.

Got the bus from Santa Monica to downtown LA once and it was the wildest ride I’ve ever been on. Totally terrified me.

Cycling trip tomorrow, Vienna to Prague, 290 miles in 4 days. Been to both on weekend breaks, so will be nice to see a bit more away from the Citys.
