Happy to be corrected here, but, if I'm not mistaken, prior to our win against Brighton last month, the last time Everton ended a game week in the top half of the Premier League table was way back in the 2020/2021 season. The common denominator in all of those seasons have been really slow starts to the season, leaving us playing catch up from day 1.
7 points from 4 games is a good start for any club who don't have ambitions of winning the league. It's frustrating that we couldn't get the win (which we deserved) on Saturday which would have been a great start, but I'm more than content with where we're at right now.
Given our state of flux as a club, our first 4 games are probably a bit of a microcosm of how our season is going to go... some shocking performances (Leeds), some decent performances where which could have gone either way (Brighton) and some where we lack the quality to get over the line (Villa).
