Im comforted somewhat by the fact that we took about 5 weeks to really get going last season - a side effect of changing OC's every season for sure. The daft penalties wind me up though..

At some point the QB has to play better too.

Of course the narrative is going to be the first year QB is bad because that’s how the NFL and media works but zero O-Line, zero run game, a second week of bizarre play calls and every single offensive player looking uncomfortable with the scheme is going to lead to a bad QB performance and McCarthy looked about as bad as I’ve seen without crossing into Josh Freeman territory.

The fourth down plan to QB sneak it for a yard in our own half with a slight QB coming off knee surgery instead of handing it to Jordan Mason who was top 6 in YAC per rush last year and is a bruiser was absolutely mind boggling

I dont watch the Texans that regularly, but nearly every time I watch their highlights, it looks to me like Stroud is struggling a bit. Even from the clips I saw of last night, he missed quite a few pretty simple throws.

Is that fair?

Their offensive line is pants, but he’s also regressed from where he was a couple years ago. He might be at the point where he’s hearing footsteps when there aren’t any.

Think with CJ he still seems to be reeling a bit from the 'sophomore slum' moniker that he was unfortunately tagged with last season. Doesn't seem to fully trust his OL either so his composure has taken a bit of a hit as a result.

Reckon he'll get better. Despite being 0-2 I still like that Texans defense, so he should be taking some comfort in the fact that they'll keep them in games and give him opportunities to get going again. The Bucs & Rams are two terrible teams to start the season with to be fair - but they have the Jags next who's defense can be exploited..
