Moyes-substitutions

It's even simpler. Win = stay of execution.

Anything else...

So he brings on Dibling, Alcaraz and McNeil and one of them gives the ball away and leads to a villa goal then what?

You’d have people moaning at Moyes for not keeping Ndiaye, KDH and Grealish on the pitch
Best never make a sub in future, just in case one of your made up worst case scenario circumstances happens.

I don’t think it’s particularly controversial to say it might have been worth rolling the dice a bit. Of course it could have gone wrong, anything could go wrong, but on balance I think it’s fair to say we could have been a bit more proactive changing it up. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s worth discussing. Some of you have slagged previous managers to high heaven for similar, there’s no need to get precious just because it’s Moyes.

Not every game is the same.
No not every game is a nil nil home game with two of the front three tiring and progressive players on the bench in the last 10, Alcaraz or Dibling for KDH was the appropriate call imo. Hypothesising some butterfly effect style imaginary drivel can literally be used for any decision or non decision in any scenario, it's a stupid argument.

I'm still of the opinion Moyes is doing a great job and we are in a better position than I could of hoped for going into the summer, it's also legitimate criticism to say we should have freshened it up in the last 10

Fair enough, I just felt the boys were still plugging away, but I agree, fresh legs MIGHT have made a difference, game should have already been over tho for me.

Yeah I have no issue with someone saying ‘I thought the team was doing fine as it was and there was no need to change it’ (I’d disagree but accept the point) but going down the ‘well what if he’d brought Alcaraz on and he’d scored 9 own goals’ route is a weak argument.

When you don`t come away from a game, especially one that looked like it was there to be won against an out of form team, you`ll always have an angle to look at why we came up short. We have a couple of players on the sidelines that could well have turned a draw into a win had they been given the opportunity but the manager chose not to change things until very late in the game because he was too afraid of losing one point instead of being confident the his subs could go on and help get all 3.
