Barry has better technique. I'd be tempted to play him in home games when we need a bit of guile to break teams down. Betos game is suited better to the counter attack for the away games.

Lately his 2nd touch is chasing after his 1st touch. Comes across as a really nice lad but at times he forgets how to play football.

It’s not that he’s a whopping boy, it’s just fans saying he’s not good enough, what wrong with that, doucoure wasn’t good enough McNeil isn’t. You keep them players and you will never improve. A good striker gets this team around the European places,

100% true in what you say, however he is what we have at present and what we can afford at this point, so let's give him the support he needs and hopefully in the next 12 months he will be upgraded.

Mate, you’ll get no argument from me that he was absolutely awful yesterday. And if he's going to play, he needs to continue working on his back to goal and hold up play, however, never playing to one of his strengths is mad to me. He isn't a good enough all round player to be in the 11 without utilising his main strength.

But if he's there, we should damn well play to it a bit more. We'll get goals from it. And it will take pressure away from Barry to develop in rapid time if Beto is at least bagging goals.

But we ain’t Barcelona from 2010 it’s not easy in the premier league just to constantly slot balls through, you also need brilliant movement which Beto doesn’t have

Hes got 1 league goal and has already 2 terrible performances. We needed his goals yesterday and it cost us 2 points. He may end up on 10/11 goals in the league but how many points wil he cost us. Unfortunately we’re stuck with him this season. But if the recruitment team aren’t already looking a main number 9 for next season, they ain’t doing their jobs

I thought he played well, bullied the life out of their defence and we looked a poorer team when he went off….

I don't think any of his chances were sitters or guilt edge. maybe a player with better technique scores them 1 in 2. for this reason, he's never gonna be the long term answer and people are gonna (potentially rightly) be on his back for it.

all that said, due to attitude and intelligence, he gets into a position to score more than anyone else we have. he's never gonna score every one. but he will get in the positions enough to score enough imo.

Delap would have been ideal running onto some of those balls in-behind. Beto will do a job this season but then I think Moyes will move him on. Barry will have to take what ever chances he’s given. But I’m sure he will do well when he gets up to speed. Usually takes a season though.
