New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I went in with very low expectations. When you're adding things like food credit, programmes and former players milling around - you know it's a bit desperate to add value. I bought only for a side view.

But I expected to be able to get a drink over an hour before kick off. Just mirroring Goodisons catering would have been good.

Others went in with, IMO, overinflated ideas. Others though, are paying £200 a ticket which is incredible..

To add, that fella on twitter isn't a fan and just goes to all stadiums. It's never hospitality but you can see people are continually have issues with perception/what's sold Vs reality;

I think the key point here is that it's not endemic of the stadium as a whole, so it's fair to question why, when you're paying more, the service is lower.

I'm not being facetious here, however I have left my seat at HT in the south upper and bought pints in less than two minutes; food is a few minutes at most.

The minimum expectation you should have is to be able to achieve parity with everyone else, or at least close to it, so you're right to be annoyed.

As @Johnniepk mentions, why not allow the money to be spent elsewhere, although access between the concourses could be an issue in itself.

I wouldn't call Club View corporate hospitality, but we get his point and his first impression is now entrenched.

Brighton was always going to be good being first game and also going 1-0 up. Today was more a frustrating game of missed chances and away team time wasting at every opportunity in second half.

I did feel in second half it was less intense than attacking the Gwladys when in those type of games you did feel the fans would eventually suck the ball in from heavy spells of pressure but again I'm probably over romanticizing the old gal already.

I don't think the atmosphere will be as good for the simple reason it is far more spacy between touchline and pitch, bet the players are relieved when they're taking throw ins or corners not having people breathing on them or touching their backs!

Weirdly I also find it strange not having the dug outs directly facing the camera. Also still watching these games imagining it with Goodison stands still.

Just need to bed in still but three games with no goals conceded is good with more winnable games to come over the next few months.
It's really not that 'spacey' between the touchline and the pitch, for a modern stadium it's pretty close to the pitch, we've been used to GP, no new stadium was ever going to be that compact. Personally thought when it did get going, it was pretty loud.

I didn't get searched going in yesterday. Usually they would pat you down. Could've took a bottle of water in with me or something. Was anyone else physically searched?
I haven’t been physically searched yet, but at the Brighton game there was a fella scanning me with that wand thing, which beeped at every single thing in my pockets. Yesterday they were preoccupied with someone with a backpack and I waltzed straight through. Paid a tenner for a pie and a Pepsi and I’m still waiting for the balance of my £20 upfront cost to go back into my bank account 😖

I get my tickets from the resale platform so I get tickets wherever I can. I was lower east row 10 yesterday right on the half way which was brilliant seat though I was surprised yesterday by the rain coming in and getting a soaking.
But that is easily resolved in the future by getting tickets a few rows back.
I am disappointed to hear the many complaints about access and food and drink but surely these are just teething problems.
On a personal note I have had no problems getting into the ground but as I never eat or drink inside the ground i can't comment.

Has anyone found any positive 3rd party reviews of the HD stadium?

Nearly all of the reviews I’ve seen are negative, particularly those for ‘club view’ tickets.

I’m more than happy with the new ground (south stand upper block 210).

All the reviews from fans from opposition have been incredibly positive, so the club need to be aware how 'Club View' is misconstruing perception.

Agree mate. It's not hyberbole either. Ive been to countless stadiums and arenas over the years and Club Views the only one one I've been unable to get served. Twice.

It would be a massive difference. The club have been told this.

Their catering partner have a digital first agenda though;

I also think there's commercial reasons why they won't allow discount to be stacked one on transaction - because forcing £10 discount per transaction dictates you lose a few quid, or spend a few quid.

Completely agree it's been a mess. But I'm not sure whether to congratulate the department at Everton who managed to make you think paying that extra money for just a concourse and £10 voucher or feel sorry for the people who fell for it.

Absolute joke this ticket situation. I just about got a ticket for Villa, loads of messing around and had to pay £100 and yet again sh** loads of empty seats.

That's not corporate hospitality.

That's the area where people paid a few hundred quid more for their own concourse.

My 1st time yesterday, loved it. No problems whatsoever. Sat in north standing lower, no queue for self serve Guinness, loads of space in concourse. Sound in the stadium is incredible. Just missing a goal which we should have had many of :(

Had the same experience myself. I reckon boomers think they would get a PA to help them to the toilet or get a pint.
