Still, makeshift backline and we've 2 cleansheets from 4 which should be 3, and we're creating chances all over the place. Sadly the lack of a striker will cost us about 5 places this season. We'll probably be European places in terms of chances put on a plate, but end up about 10th-12th because our strikers are absolutely awful. Imagine spending £30m on a younger version of Beto—I want to know who sanctioned that.
Not got the finances or profile to go above £50 million +. So we have punts on hope.

Does feel like two points dropped . Again woeful refereeing. Keane rising from ashes and man of the match.
Oh yeah they have good keeper too. Just loved his world cup celebrations just because it was infantile and offensive and made me smirk, even now.

What happened in a fortnight?

Can challenge for Champions League with 1-2 additions today.

Like everyone…. Very frustrated with the draw…. The ref show and the awful play by Villa.

But is a massive difference from this time last year.

We have come a long way and you can clearly see from the game… 1 team will be challenging European places whilst 1 team will be fighting relegation.

We are a goalscorer away from doing good things.

Oh and once JB and Myko are back then this will help our cause even more (I appreciate Keane has been fantastic so far this season).

villa lucky to come away with a draw and ended up playing for that result in the second half.

Thought we became to reliant on Grealish making something happen in the second half. First half we used the right side a lot more and had a lot of joy.

Obviously you try to use your best player as much as possible, but sometimes we just seem to give him the ball with three players around him and then no one provided support.

Think some of the shouts on Barry are a bit premature. He’s a young lad, in a new league and came up against two very experienced and physical CBs. It wasn’t his finest performance but look at the Brighton game where his link up play was instrumental in both goals

Decent performance except for the missed chances. Keane was very good, but I thought Gana looked goosed the whole game and I was surprised he wasn't subbed. Villa (Martines aside) were hugely disappointing, I thought watkins, buendia were largely anonymous. As others have said, with Mykolenko and Branthwaite back, we will be much stronger too. I don't get the grief Barry is taking, he is a kid in a new league ffs, he will need the season to fully bed in.

If we'd won yesterday it wouldn't have impressed this Guardian reporter . Apparently we didn't deserve to beat Brighton 2-0 .
<< They ( Everton ) have made a decent start to this season, but that is all it is. They probably ought to have won here, but did not. That cancels out the three undeserved points they took from Brighton on the opening day at their new waterside residence.>> o_O
