New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I have found the Arriva bus service to and from Liverpool One to be very slick, well organised and useful. Today after the match I needed to head to Lime Street so opted for the Stagecoach (919) service to Commutation Row. Never again. Amateur clown show. 2 buses, poorly filled, desperately slow process, left me and scores of others still waiting.
No bus returned within 35 minutes. Girl ‘organising’ bus loading didn’t have a clue when the buses would reappear. I gave up and walked. Next time I need Lime Street, I’ll use Arriva and walk from Liverpool One to the station. Be warned!
Yeh same for me , I pushed in the queue and got on a 919 bus ok but it still took 40 minutes to Lime St. Noticed the 929 got through quicker. One problem seemed to be that cars were using the bus lane . Another issue is the jobsworth who only allows people to board one bus at a time when several are lined up. This used to happen at Goodison too. A police presence at Leeds St. to stop people blocking the junctions might help too.

The biggest concern for me by far with the new stadium was people putting themselves in the new Gladwys Street that liked the idea of being where the atmosphere was without doing anything to provide it themselves.

I don't really know what you do to make the South Stand unique or get people on their feet but the team need it and we need it as a club.
Just time for people to adjust I would say,I said to my lad today if we scored near the end the roof would come off..it will come don't be so harsh. We've had some really quiet ones at goodison but we always remember the massive ones... keep the faith kid

Watch the game highlights on MOTD when it comes on and tell me the number of stewards in the stadium watching the game isn't 'kin weird.

I've never seen anything like it.

There's something defo wrong here.
Here you go. You do the maths for us 😉

When we left south stand upper you go down 2 escalators after coming off first one there is a landing then the second escalator it was backed up people were going off the first into the people on the landing backing up on the second. we were all laughing but bloody ell could get out of hand

There was loads. I thought there'd been crowd disorder when I first stared watching.

I think what it is is that the club have employed, early doors, a lot of stewards to oversee the inevitable confusion of the ticketing regime and pointing out to fans where they have to be once inside. Maybe that level of stewarding will go down after a season as the wrinkles are ironed out.

They all seem to be in the stadium though once the game starts. I bet half of them are Kopites too.

Feel is a few things about it would like to think we can get the flags back going by the 1878 before games again. To really help kick the game off, also just think becuase is such a change is people getting used to the stadium sitting by new people ect that it will come again. Think football as a whole now from home teams the support is not going to be what is was. I do think will improve as the season goes on
I hope the atmosphere does get better as the season goes on and it probably will, and you are right it strange not sitting by the same people as I have for the last 20 odd years, also I could see a fair few empty seats opposite me today.

The demand is defo in the fanbase do have alot over priced packages not sure it them seats what you seen. Is something the club need to work on

It could go either way. Some big wins against the like of Liverpool and United will go a long way to helping the atmosphere, but a season of nothing would just leave us in a bit of a rut.

Villa fans were limited to one rendition of you sold your soul before they gave up and then in the second half began a rendition of is this a library and then gave up halfway through when they saw us on the attack

I think villa fans kinda just gave up taunting us when they realised how crap their team was playing and were relieved to be going home with a point

All I heard from them was the occasional “villa villa villa” chant

Some houses on left went in 66. There were still houses on right of Goodison Ave after PE was built. They weren't demolished for it to be built.

Whether for the stand, the car park or both, the club still demolished them all for the expansion of our facilities and their accessibility. I think it was over 35 houses in total at that end, and over 20 at the Gwladys St end. I'm not sure if we also knocked down some properties on the western side of Goodison Rd itself. I know we used to own several there and elsewhere around the ground.

Apologies if the wrong thread. Complete gridlock at the Gt Howard St/Leeds St junction. We are on the 919 and been on it for 40 minutes already. Won't be doing this route again!

That junction needs to be either completely remodelled or temporary lights put in to give buses priority on matchday. Makes the shuttles completely ineffective post match. There also shouldn't be any cars apart from disabled parking anywhere off Grt Howard Street.

I thought the atmosphere sounded really poor today. 3pm kick off, good start to the season and Villa at home: all the ingredients for a decent crowd but it just didn't happen. I guess that's been the case for years at Goodison as well but we are where we are as a fan base where people like to sit in silence for the majority of the game.
Yes, it was the same at Goodison I'm afraid. In recent years, at least.

It's sad because we can really be that twelfth man when we want to be. We saw that with the Palace game under Frank.
