2025/26 Beto

From the Guardian match report - ouch

Beto again ought to have scored minutes into the second half. Instead, he failed to properly connect with James Garner’s cross. His removal 15 minutes from the end was met with a warm reception. His effort is endearing, but it was the type of part-encouragement, part-sympathy applause usually reserved for the child destined to finish last at school sports day.

When we don't win a match why is he the only one who gets blamed?

Strange isn't it? I thought 11 players made up a team but apparently it's all down to Beto.
Because he is the striker and he had some good chances and didn’t take them.

If Keane had a shocker people would want him dropped or if Garner had one playing out of position etc.

Thought his hold up was decent enough but our midfield wasn't so slick today, when it is he will get some tap ins.

Think it's evident he's not the real deal. If we got an offer in January and we had someone lined up it would make sense to do a trade, rather than keeping hold of a dud.

Strikers and Goalkeepers are usually the ones that are the most obvious at error in any game just for their position.

But sadly Beto did have a bit of a stinker this game, especially compared to the rest of the team, hopefully just gives him motivation for a better go next time out.

Problem is mate we haven’t got one because in Barry we don’t know what we’ve got with him.
I know. I said in another thread that it's a tricky situation, we can't afford a top, top striker, so we have to try and develop someone. I'm guessing that someone is Barry but I'm also guessing that he isn't impressing in training as he's not getting on the pitch much.
