2025/26 David Moyes

He had Unais number today just the strikers failed to do their jobs. He could have thrown the Wizard on earlier cos Tim was gash. Charlie comes on and adds something

Didn't try and win it enough: either Alcaraz and Dibling - or both - should have been on the field.

Only thing of value I saw Moyes do was recognise that Villa were winning the MF battle and threw Rohl on.

That’s the kind of game that we’d win with:

• a couple of fullbacks who can properly support the attack; and

• a decent centre forward.

We might as well have had a traffic cone playing up front today. Anonymous in open play and pathetic in front of goal. Did anyone have any confidence when Barry went clean through at the end?

Couple decent fullbacks would make it more difficult for teams to double up on our wingers. Too easy for them as no threat from fullback.

Would focus all recruitment there and we’ve got a pretty good team!

This might be the first time with everything you’ve said here, Dave.

Don't disagree but we seem to have one plan which is to give it too Jack and hope for the best, going to get found out very quickly and will struggle if we don't come up with something else imo. Villa are terrible though, like really bad terrible.
I think you’re bang on. Without a fullback giving teams something to think about, taking players away from Grealish, teams will just double up on him and nullify him. Too easy.

Says he was really pleased with the effort and performance today.

Moyes era Mark 1 had a lot of “what could have been “ if he’d had a decent striker.

Big Rom is the only player I can actually remember in the last - what nearly twenty years to be a genuine goal threat.
