New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Had to laugh about the bit he says Liverpool are still in their spiritual home. They drove a lot of local people out of their homes just to expand their own foot print. That was something that we decided was not worth doing to folks who live next to Goodison and prompted us t look for a new home.
And, besides, their "spiritual home" was our home.

Just had to post this honestly on another planet some of the rs fans. Will agree would have loved stay at goodison because of the history. But the new stadium is just a massive wow everytime you go to it, and is something anfield will never be as you can only do so much becuase of the foundations. Really hope we can keep pushing to get the max out of the stadium making sure all tickets sold, looking to increase the capacity, get more things around the ground bars would even love a small museum or something to show some of the history of the club.

They dont know what they have done to ruin the skyline of the city with that hole punch of a stadium. Stand on the Wirral side of the river, see the eye catching Liver Buildings etc move across and see that monstrosity at the top, typical Americans, build big to be seen. Dan Meis designed what he was asked to by Evertonians.

I dont hate him. I just think he bought into the sentimental mush of a handful of 'heritage' fans who got in his head and told him that cramming as much of Goodison's iconography into the the new stadium and around its exterior was the wisest thing to do.

He's a designer/architect and had a blank canvas to work with but chose not to fully do that.

The roof of the new stadium is what gets him out of trouble, IMO. Just.

Basically though, he was weak and was mugged off by the tragical history tour bores who think they're better than other fans and the carrier of the torch of the club. They most definitely are not.
Your levels of insight and superior knowledge across multiple subjects is astounding; architecture, commerce, management, culture.

We are lucky to have such a renaissance man in our midst
