New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Wow I’m suprised by that, wonder whether it was actually absence of equipment or lack of training / familiarity with where it was.
You would think in a place designed to hold 53k people, that sort of kit being missing would stop a safety cert being issued.

I got the impression from what I was told was that there was just no equipment anywhere near the guy. I didn’t ask the specifics of what stand he was in, where they got the equipment from etc. I know the guy was pretty old, I’m can’t say if access to the equipment would have made a difference given his age and the severity of the stroke but we all know time is a factor with strokes and even if on this occasion it wouldn’t have made a difference a day might come when it does

HDS lit up but doesn’t look like Everton crests are

Took the kids down to see the players arrive for the league cup game.

The coach arrived at 6:05pm - so roughly 2 hours before kick-off. They pull up outside the west stand, and barriers get put up in the walkway under the stepped plaza that you can wait by.

@allen Thank you very much. I’ll be dragged along earlier so we’ll take a look. Cheers

No worries.

I think even if the players drive themselves in, it’d be the same deal. Branthwaite arrived well before the team bus, but came in the same way.

It won’t be like at Goodison, whereby if the players drove in, they entered via the Park End / Bullens Road corner rather than Goodison Road. There’s just the one entrance for players at the new ground.

a defibrillator wont help with a stroke, only thing todo is recognise what the issue is (strokes are difficult to tell in the early stages) and get them to a hozzy asap

Just meant generally rather than specific to that incident/case, I’d have thought defibs and evacuation chairs would have been minimum requirements for a safety cert for that many people.

Info please! Travelling 48 miles. Usually use train to Lime St. Going to try by car. Which multi storey carpark is easiest/best to BMD to use for 919 OR 929 Shuttle bus? Easiest combination please as Pensioner and not good on legs! 😄

St jones multi story car park is £6 for 24 hours if you do it online. Might be cheaper for a few hours.

I only found this out yesterday but a friend of my brother in laws dad was at the Brighton game and had a massive stroke. They didn’t know what it was at the time and thought it might be a heart attack but they didn’t have a chair to remove him or a defibrillator anywhere near him. Poor guy ended up dying after the event. Fixing Club View and the length of a queue for a beer are the least of their worries

Really sorry for your loss. I'm really surprised by this, thought this would be more public. I'll speak to someone I know at the club to understand more on this.
