Match Thread Everton V Aston Villa. Sat Sep 13th. 3pm

I hope I'm wrong, but I think we'll come crashing back down to Earth.

Seems like he was out of favor that's what lead to him being lined up for a transfer, I think Emery prefers the other gk
No Martinez is Emerys preferred goalkeeper but Martinez was being lined up to go to Man Utd as Villa need money because of the PSR nonsense. I'm not sure why the transfer to Man Utd didn't go through but Martinez is one of the world's best so he'll be in nets against us barring injury

Not heard either way on Myko or Branthwaite, but assume they won't be rushed.
I think we have plenty to get excited about going forward, but against a decent attack our current back 4 setup won't be keeping clean sheets.
Hope we win though.

Myko played the full 90 minutes v Wolves. Not his greatest game by a long chalk but still serious minutes on the grass. Ukraine didn't actually call him up so assume there was some agreement that it would be more beneficial for him to stay here and get decent training.

Don't think there's any doubt he starts on Saturday and that will be a tasty battle up against Elliott.

Branthy had similar injury last season, was rushed back to face Palace and had a reaction and so didn't really play regularly until the November so ease him back in given Keane is in his best form here in over 5 years so a rare luxury.

I think the thing is to stay grounded. We will lose games at home and win away games. This is still the nucleus of the team that has been bottom half for a few seasons.
Top ten would be decent (obviously higher would be great).

Next two aways are RS and Man. City so that is probably the reality check (although Man. City shouldn't be written off based on last few seasons with the two 1-1s).

Main thing is the home momentum at BMD continues. No reason at all why next three of Villa, Palace and West Ham can't be seven points and that would be at least 13 points from first 8 games so comfortably top half and basically continuing the points average since Moyes came in. Continue with that haul every 8 games and you're talking about a potential 60 point season for first time since 16/17.

I'd be disappointed if we dropped points at home to any of Villa, Palace, or West Ham
