If we’re meant to elevate our finest minds in society to lead over us and they cannot safeguard essentials such as security, food, opportunity, decency, then we are doing it all wrong. Self and special interests should be held accountable accordingly.

As we learned the hard way fascism is never the answer. Neither is communism or other types of authoritarianism.

We do not elevate our finest. Our 'leaders' are thrust upon us by a broken system bereft of compassion.

The idea that there's been an original thought on here is pretty hopeful, especially as it pertains to football. Pretty much everything I read on here looks like it was informed by a Sky Sports opinion piece.

I try very hard not to think anymore. I'm far happier for it.

I used to express opinions and extolling logical facts and consequences to any idiot who'd listen, in the hope that people would learn and help build a better world. I spent 30 years teaching science for the same reason. It didn't work. Its all too late now, humanity is doomed. My remaining hope is that the downfall doesn't affect me in my remaining 10-20 years.

I blame science, the moon landings and everton for giving me hope and optimism. I blame commercialism, greed and the unfathomable massed ignorance of the public for ruining everything.

Today the sun is out and there are showers to water the garden, so that's good.

Saw this today and figured it summed up the sentiment behind my post pretty well.....

LinkedIn has been an absolute cesspit of bile over the RMT Tube strike this week.

Absolutely delicious. I've been luxuriating in reading the comments sections filled with people likr Fiona, the 'no nonsense corporate services consultant' and David 'the agile leader in business origination'.

This country runs on negative solidarity, it seems.

Speaks all the time in buzz words. Sellotapes a sign saying “War Room” to a small meeting room and invites 12 people needlessly to discuss a potential client who turns out to be a dud.
Lives with his Mum and secretly fantasises about Fiona.
