Homepage Article How To Solve A Problem Like Club View?

Well that's exactly what I did last time at the Brighton game. I have my family's 3 tickets on my phone. I ordered 3 drinks and 3 food items, tapped the 3 tickets onto the reader and saw 3x £10 deducted, and then paid the balance.

I was also told by the staff there that every £10 deduction has to be on a seperate transaction. It was a common complaint. Despite standing there with people, they wouldn't allow group deducts on one transaction, it had to be individual. Obviously a nonsense and contributed to queue chaos - because it meant people had to individually go.

If you have loads of tickets on your phone then perhaps it's a workaround, but most people won't.

The staff seemed to be making it up as they go.

I'm sure that there were different experiences across the Club View kiosks and service points, I'm just relaying mine the way it happened. Goodness knows what will happen this Saturday, especially with the £20 pp credit creating bigger orders.

I really hope they’ve done what is an easy and quick win! Put some sort of barriers in place to help with the flow of people queuing to get food/drink and also make a clear gap between the queue and the till point so you can walk away with ease rather than fight your way through everyone. Mad that it wasn’t in place to start with as it’s so basic! Turn one of the merch stands (?!?!?!) into either alcohol only/no alcohol might be a way of easing the queues in one space as well maybe? Anyway, here’s hoping it’s had a big overhaul and is A LOT better now!

One very obvious solution to this issue is to simply give each season ticket holder a £190 balance and let them crack on for the season. Given you can't actually sell your ticket the only reason not to do this is greed by the club of knowing most/all supporters are not gonna spend exactly £10 every game and so they'll miss out on their precious £1-2 every game

Not just that mate but if restricted to £10 each game fans will either lose a few quid or spend over each time.

Yeah exactly. We're talking about the club making about 1 players weekly salary for the year there but that'll be why they won't despite the fact it'll will increase the experience and decrease queues. Alas we shall see what it's like on Saturday with the extra bars (where its unclear if you can actually spend the tenner)

Seems like Everton would be better off refunding £190 to all club view ST holders and just let people buy their own food and drink. That should prevent the numbers that all trying to use up the credit and naturally ease concession queues and concourse space.

It's going to be like a scene from Game of Thrones tomorrow. My advice would be to get there early to be able to spend the £20. There could be stock issues as it would be peak Everton if Aramark haven’t clocked that there will be a high spend per person.

Agreed, that's the best plan. However, the whole early start thing is actually changing my match day experience now though. Yeah, I appreciate I could not worry about the £10 (£20 tomorrow), but going in early to use is is meaning I get less time meeting mates before the match like I used to (as it's not exactly easy to move out of club view to meet them in ground either).

But, hopefully with more time it will settle down. I think they'll sort it with a few more games.
