Match Thread Everton V Aston Villa. Sat Sep 13th. 3pm

Apart from Pickford pur defence gives me the heebie geebies
O Brien Tarks Keggers Garner/ Anzou is not safe
We need 3 new defenders with Jarred if his hamstring isn't buggered.
We aren't going anywhere with those in defence and Mylenko is not the answer either

Everton have played some good stuff so far but have also looked vulnerable at times. Villa have played reasonably well at times but have had a poor start results wise. So based on that I have no clue how this turns out but a win would be absolutely fantastic

I am usually a pragmatic optimist especially where Everton are concerned. This one gives me some trepidation though. Villa will see this as a potential turning point after their bad start I am sure, after 2 weeks to think about how they fix whats broken. Emery is nobody's fool. they don't have a 19th placed team and their Euro burden games haven't really started yet. We will be without our starting CB and LB. I could see us and the crowd struggling if we go behind early. All that said, if I was gambling on the result I'd go for a 2-2.

I was thinking, someone has to be the first opponent to score in the new gaff, it may well be Villa this weekend, and then I wondered, where is Christian Benteke these days? No one and I mean no one loved a goal against Everton more than that guy. I think he could have gone out there in a wheelchair and still bagged.

Update: he won Golden Boot in MLS last year, boy does that say a lot 😂

Tim Howard produced an incredible penalty save from him in one of the Villa Park games.
