2025/26 Nathan Patterson

Not really. Some players may suit other leagues more. He had interest in him prior to coming to us so maybe teams look at those attributes and reasoning and think, maybe that’s still there and he will suit our league more.

Sevilla also aren’t the Sevilla of old.

A bit like Kenny who was a bit crap as a PL defender but had a loan in Germany and did allright and then got a permanent deal over there.

Is Kenny doing alright over there? The last time I checked he was struggling for game time for a side that has been relegated to the second division.

I’ve just checked and he now plays in Greece having flopped in Germany. I do agree that Patterson’s career is likely to go the same way, though.

I think people are going in too hard on NP.
Not really had a great intro with Dyche in place. Needs a good run of games on loan somewhere before I think he can be fairly judged.

I agree that it’s unknown whether he could cope with League One or whatever, but the verdict is already known when it comes to Patterson and the Premier League.

I don’t think there is a single PL side that would have him as a first choice right back. He is not PL standard.

Dyche? Lampard didn't fancy him either, neither does Moyes

He'll end up back in Scotland I think
Lampard didn’t pick him in his first half season. But was picking him when available at the start of the following season despite Coleman being available. Patterson then got injured but immediately came back into the team when fit again.

I’m sure someone will argue against this but that can all be viewed on transfermarkt.

It was more that he initially went over there on loan and did well and showed he could manage in that league.

Then got a permanent deal over there and I believe initially did well in that deal before it then dropped off and he then moved on.

Different players attributes suit different leagues (or even different teams such as Antonee Robinson who was hardly setting the world alight and then seemed to burst through with Fulham at like 25 years old).

Would agree with you on dyche as was poor with him, but moyes has looked at the lad and has decided not good enough. Thought it since the last game vs southampton was fit and young started instead of him, also had another chance pre season and again not really did anything. Then is prob what has seen in training, think the lad himself now wants to move just the best for both

he looked really good under Lampard, and the side itself was a lot stornger than the previous year up until some point in November

then Patterson got injured, and the team itself struggled, and Dyche absolutely did not fancy him

think the lad has ability but football is a funny game and he just seems not up to scratch now, hasnt kicked on at all, and is very prone to injury

i dont think Moyes trusts him either. He did give him chances towards the back end of last year, and he ended up finishing the season with Young there instead which says it all

I get what you mean with ability as you could work on him to improve problem with him is his real lack of game time the lad is 23 and played 62 games us and rangers. Just does not have the baisic postioning is his game. Still plays very much like an academy young player and has not improved but just gone backwards imo. Compare that to armstrong who played 15 games for derby already at his age. Just has no future with the club just got to hope get decent money and a sell on

….Moyes wanting him out on loan says everything, I’m sure he’d seen enough in the home game against Ipswich (?) where he lost that challenge, fell on his backside and they broke to equalise. I’d imagine Moyes will only use Patterson as a last resort.
