2025/26 Tyler Dibling

Not gonna lie, I wanted him straight in the side when we were playing Charly out wide because Charly for all his talent is definitely not a winger.

Ndiaye and Grealish look great together so he can earn his way into the side now.
Afcon will be a big opportunity for the likes of Dibling and Rohl to show what they've got with Gana and NDiaye not being available. Could also give Alcaraz, Iro and McNeil more game time with rotation during a busy period.

Barkley destroyed his own career with very bad decisions and probably putting his own hype before actual progression in his game..
Dunno about that, won an FA Cup, Europa League and CWC as well as played abroad and plenty of Champ League games.
His career has been far more successful than if he had stayed here, and he’s earned and absolute heap of money to boot.
His local reputation maybe, but career wise it’s had to justified he destroyed it.

I'm not looking at it as local reputation, yes he has trophy's to his name to his name, but how imput did he really have in those achievements.. his time abroad and other clubs were brief moves that didnt lead to big contracts.

He has earned a lot of money, so fair play, but will he really be remembered as a household name in years to come.

Gerrard - lamps and scholes certainly will..

It’s highly debatable he would have reached those heights with us tbf, that injury probably put paid to that regardless of whom he played for, IF he was ever really able to reach those levels.
Personally, I’m unconvinced he had the footballing intelligence to be on the same perch regardless of his injuries.
But to the wider point, how else to judge his career success or failure other than trophy’s and wealth, both of which are greater than had he stayed put 🤷🏻‍♂️

All I’m saying is I don’t think he was ever reaching that bracket of player, but he certainly didn’t destroy his careeer imo.

Bringing it back to Dibling, the little I’ve seen of him he looks to have a bit more about him than Barkley did. Even if possibly not as good from an outright technical point of view, he appears to have a better appreciation of what do in a team than outright individual brilliance.

Barkley is playing in the premier league, wading in money. Calling his career destroyed is wild. Had we sold him, and he was loaned out to some lower league which he never left, sure, but thats not what happened.

I mean they also won just about everything, that probably helps a bit I'd say.

All comes down to a difference of opinions on certain aspects a persons end goal in sport..

Nothing wrong with different opinions, a forum wouldn't work if everyone sang from the same hymn sheet all the time..
