The jail for something on the football field is a fallacy. Dunc was on probation for a violent offence at the time. If you're on probation, any breach of parole conditions, and especially an act of violence, will automatically result in prison. That's what happened, very simple, no conspiracy. The headbutt itself was not a big deal, but it was a clear breach of parole conditions, on the telly. They may well have turned a blind eye if he didn't do it live on the telly. The scottish probation service had no choice, or every Glasgow scally would think they were entitled to breach probation rules too. Great character Duncan, but never the brightest.
