2025/26 Beto

Not mentioning any names but i have read some amount of drivel over the last few pages.
I think everyone would probably agree that if Beto scores 12 to 15 goals this season, he,ll have been good enough for Everton considering where we have been over the last few season.
Making comments like if he scores 12 to 15 goals, he still wont be good enough for Everton is absolute Bo----ks in my opinion.
We have been relegation candidates for years, playing the most atrocious football imaginable, and somebody wants to say a 12 to 15 goal striker isnt good enough for Everton. LMFAO
Everton are currently a stepping stone club at the minute, trying to achieve mid table security and challenge for Europe over the next few season.
If Beto scores 12-15 goals he will be a part of the progression up the table until we find a better striker.
Im not saying he will, but i think if played regularly he has a decent chance of hitting those numbers, but to say he,s still not good enough even if he does, is using your get out of jail card free, when your likely going to lose an argument.

at the end of the day with Beto, it's not really about how effective he is with bringing others into play, or his first touch, or his ability to stay onside.

what really matters is that when he bangs one in it is really fun to chant Ole Ole Ole, Betooo, Betooo with thousands of other blues

and that essentially is what football is all about

I think he will. Not because he is better but because he will have more creativity around him than we have had for years and years and years.
That’s exactly how I feel, Beto was useless under Dyche and improved under Moyes, I have no doubt DCL would have done similar. N a derby type game I’d have A fully fit DCL every time. If we are looking for top 10 I wouldn’t have any of our strikers over the past 5 years.

If he gets 12+ goals, i see no reason why we would get rid of him.

He is on the older side and we would probably be able to get a decent price for him. I personally would not sell him if we don't have to (for instance selling him to bring in a lateral move like Soucek), but if we can replace him with a promising talent and Barry shows he has what it takes, I can see the appeal in getting your money and reinvesting it.

If Barry can push him out of the side and scores 10-15 goals then I would imagine we might try to cash in on Beto but that does appear to be a big "if" at the moment.

I have faith in Barry to start clicking eventually but I imagine Beto will be here until next summer at the very earliest.

If Barry starts banging them in, that changes the picture quite a bit. Until then, i dont see any reason in getting rid. He works and improves and is capable if leading our line - and i assume his wage isnt gigantic

Yep, nobody noticed Lukaku was pretty useless at everything other than scoring.
