NFL 2025 Season

They have Jones, Jefferson, Addison, a very good OL and a very good D. A very mid QB would look good there. There was a reason why Rodgers wanted to go to the Vikings.
2018 with Cousins they had the number 1 defence in the league Diggs, Thielen, Cook and Rudolph. Last year they had largely the same offensive weapons with Darnold.

Means nothing if your mid QB can’t do it when it matters. Rodgers is an absolute cancer, you don’t want him on your team and it was absolutely the right move not bringing in an aged, difficult QB coming off a crap season and a big injury.

mccarthy might grow into it, but if he's terrible you need someone, just in case. A team this talented has about a 3 year shelf life, its good to have an insurance policy so you don't waste one of those years going 8-9.

Or he’s good and it not a problem. They’ve done the mercenary QB thing for years it’s time for something new

Another mad game! Caleb Williams showing what he's potentially all about in those first three quarters.. only for JJ McCarthy to put his cape on in that fourth and win the game for the Vikings 🤯 typical Bears really.

Chicago still not very good

Offence did nothing between the first and last drives. Defence couldn't stop the run in the second half.
failing on 4th and 3 just deflated the offense. just kick the FG.

Early Minnesota was biting on play action. Once Minnesota realized Chicago has no running game they tee'd off on Caleb. That's the thing w/ this McVay like offense. You need some threat of a running game to make it work.

Think everyone needs a good balance of throwing & running on their offence these days to be successful over a full game and just in general. You need to have strong options for both because a lot of defences these days tend to be quite quick to suss out what you're doing if you tend to just strictly stick with one over the other. Also, moreso than ever, you need QBs who aren't afraid to get on their bikes themselves.

As I've already said though - Week 1 is always a strange one as most teams are trying to figure out a bunch of new faces/co-coordinators. It's never usually until around Week 4-5 when things really start to take shape..

As you know, very new to NFL, but even I noticed this watching my new beloved Jets. Feel like it was rush or bust for them.

Early days mate, but it's the Jets defense that needs the attention. Their line just didn't put 41-year old Aaron Rodgers under nearly enough pressure throughout considering that he's practically a statue these days.

That Jets offense will come up against better defenses this season, of course - but their pass defense just can't afford to leave gaping holes like they did against the Steelers in that second half.

Yeh still trying to differentiate the positions as well. I liked that Quinnen Williams, proper beast.

Yep, he at least broke through for a sack on Rodgers at one point. Those big d-lineman are super important when it comes to pressuring the oppo's offensive line to get to the QB when the QB in question tends to really need the extra time to make big throws like Rodgers does these days.

Its always been that way. There are very few 1 dimensional offenses that have won SBs (maybe the Pats team that beat seattle and the KC team that beat the 49ers). They almost always get exposed by good teams.

The best teams go out and grab very good RBs because when dealing w/ a hard cap an excellent RB is the best bargain in sports.
