2025/26 Vitalii Mykolenko

The more Everton players are in internationals, the greater the visibility of the club.

Players who aspire to become internationals will want to join clubs with internationally known players.
Fair enough—each to their own, I want Everton to succeed and the less Grealish plays for England means the less chance of injury in those games.

Problem is that (it would seem) he joined us to increased his playing time to better his chances of making the WC squad. If that doesn't happen and we want to keep him he might blow us out?

If he’s enjoying his footy and again and feeling the love, which he is at the moment, I’d say no.

But it’s a double edged sword, as he also becomes much more attractive to other teams at the end of his loan with us.

Early days yet though.

I think the most important thing is for him to perform, get into the england side and then the whole planet sees the name Everton alongside his name - same for other internationals we have.

The less he plays for England is a bonus for Everton.

disagree

part of the reason he's come here is that he wants to play for England.

if he plays out of his skin and doesn't get selected, and the rationale is cos of who he plays for, then there's a chance he doesn't want to stick around

there's also a chance he loves it here and accepts at his age that england is gone. though I would find that hard to believe, especially with a home euros, with full crowds and no pandemic, on the horizon

Fair enough but on the other side of the coin he might want to stay with us and do his best each time he plays.

Yes it’s all about opinions but I find it hard to believe that he won’t be picked because of who he plays for, if he plays well continually then he will be picked or it could be his reputation, rightly or wrongly, that is keeping him out.

I sort of like Mykp more than I think he's a decent LB. Like he's OK, effort good. I'm hoping Moyes gets him bombing on a bit more and expecting to get up and around the box with assists more. He can do it, but needs game time, tactics etc to get it out of him.

Having Jack in front will give him plenty of chance to get involved and then he's a great squad player.

Personally, I think Myko is the perfect player to have there right now while we develop Aznou. I think we all hope Aznou will be a dynamic LB that ends up being the next Baines level player. But having a guy who is solid, dependable, and you can confidently plug in without having to worry about it is real nice while he builds to that.
