Everton Youth Teams Thread

England U17s played again on Saturday in that tournament in Germany and the manager rang the changes with both Everton lads on the bench for a match against Israel. Reuben Gokah entered the fray on the hour with his side one up. It finished 2-1 to England. Malik Olayiwola didn't get on. Final game v Germany is on Tuesday.

Not exactly a youth player at £36m but Tyler Dibling should hopefully feature for the U21s in Kazakhstan tomorrow afternoon.

….yep, super talented need to be breaking in and around the first team.

Saying that, the dynamic of the club is changing in respect of purchasing power. In recent times I’ve generally thought it a negative sign when we sent a talented youngster on loan because our squad is so poor. Now as Armstrong impresses, we have the purchasing power to bring in Rohl.

It might be increasingly difficult to break through but I still believe the super talented find a way.
It’s a nice problem to have. Improving as a first team and club should help attract young talent giving us more options. The better the option, the better the chance of making it or having value.

It’s harsh but it’s reality. 9 subs allows you the chance to have a kid or two on the bench without affecting strategy too much. Fingers crossed
