You do know that’s last season

It all boils down to the same thing, they didn't build a big enough stadium, so now they have to rinse occasional match goers
Im fairly sure there was always an intention to rinse the fans.

And you know what, that strangely seems ok, if we want the best players, you have to pay, its up to YOU, the consumer, if you think the price is worth paying.

Personally, im probably done after this season, I might keep my ticket for the occasional game, but the prices are a bit rich for me.

As for memberships, the 'biggest club in the world' measured by the number of (paid) members it has is still Benfica, I think. They have maybe getting on for half a million members so it must be virtually impossible getting a ticket to see them and the touts must have a field day.
I bought a Benfica membership in December for about £15 to get priority access for tickets and there were loads available to buy in any part of the ground.

I think the main reason they have so many members is because of the way the Club is run and funded (as a 'community' club) and it's the fans repeatedly renewing memberships that partly keeps them going? Bayern are possibly a bit like this, too, as their fans are always one of the first to jump on ticket price hikes in European games.

*Isn't it also a 'thing' in world football (and I'm not trying to say it's just that for you) to be able to say you're a member of Benfica? Wasn't there an ongoing competition of sorts between fans with another club (Bayern Munich?) to be part of the biggest supported club in the world?

*There is every chance I've made this up!

I was hoping to get over once or twice this season, but that won't be happening now due to the hassle and the inflated prices.

Yeah it's frustrating ,im an occasional traveller, and the temptation to book my flight in advance is so tempting before ryan air stick their prices up.
I got caught a couple of seasons ago where they changed a fixture ,Man U away I think, I waited for fixture changes, but then they changed it a second time re European fixtures Very annoying.

Footnote for Irish fans over on the west coast . On Sunday there is a late flight out of LPL into SNN, very significant as there is also a fairly early flight into Manchester hence Spurs will be my first visit.

Just to be clear, if tickets do ever up on general sale that will mean you don’t need a ‘membership’ to get one?

I.e the ‘membership’ just gets you entered into a priority ballot but if there were tickets left after this, then they would be available to people without a membership. Is that right?

I refuse to give Everton £60 to get absolutely nothing in return except the possibility of getting something in the future
