Levy gone!

I personally don't get the Spurs fans issues with Levy. Has delivered a new stadium, consistent stabs at European football, and world class managers backed with world class players. Don't get this narrative that he doesn't invest enough, Spurs are up there with the leagues biggest spenders over the last decade. He's a shrewd negotiator who keeps hold of Spurs best players while investing in youth as well, and is actually a fan, which is rare. I think the Levy out movement belies an underlying entitlement from the fans to be better than they are, with very little historical precedent to legitimise that.

The Ange affair I think is a case in point, Spurs fans I know backed him almost until he was sacked and refused to acknowledge that he was rubbish because they instinctively liked him as a bloke, whilst at the same time calling for Levy out? That's the kind of small club, losers mentality that holds them back, not the owner... And why they will always be 'spursy', no matter who they put in charge

99% happy that he has gone.

Could be a sale being lined up?

Did a lot of good things but should have invested in the playing staff when we were regularly coming 2nd/3rd in the League and getting to the CL final.

Instead we had whole transfer windows where we made no purchases.
Not having a stadium sponsor is a bit of a failure for him?

Let me reword this. As a club who wants to be winning things.

Did a lot of good things but should have invested a lot more in the playing staff when we were regularly failing to win the league finishing 2nd/3rd and losing CL final

A painful but more accurate take, I think. Even us as Everton know what it feels like to have tight purse strings, so to have that opportunity and still balance the books is seemingly all that mattered to Levy, the mingebag.

It is strange but to be honest I prefer it.
We play at White Hart Lane not the Asda Arena or the Sharia Law Stadium.
I think Levy has pitched the naming rights very high and couldn't get any takers. That is likely to change under the new regime.
I actually really like Hill Dickinson for that reason, it sounds like a place or street name and is a company that has local origins+ the connection with maritime law and the docks. Sounded odd at first but once it settles into the brain a bit it’s much better than Aviva or Ethiad or something that sounds too commercial/ alien.

I wouldn’t blame Levy for being fussy.

Bramley Moore is a beautiful name and still what I consider the stadium to be, as least Hill Dickenson is slightly less corporate than some.

I remember reading a short stories book about 25 years ago by Rich Hall about the over reach of corporationism in which he talked about cup finals being played in the Playstation 2 arena, at the time it sounded surreal and hilarious and now just seems normal.

This is a weird take, sticking behind Ange who wasn’t backed at all that second summer and wanting out the man who didn’t back him is a small club losers mentality - even though that same manager won us the Europa league at the end of that season.

I know it’s been 30 years lids, but the game is still about playing great football and winning trophies

Haven't been able to move from calling it BMD yet,
I don't personally like the whole 'Naming Rights' approach,
but that is football nowadays..

You played crap footy and finished 17th? And beat the worst United team in living memory in the final, in a competition completely devoid of any quality

And you spent 180m on players

And you still defend Big Fat Ange?

Give your head a wobble sunshine
