2025/26 Jordan Pickford

….i think he’s the epitome of the modern day keeper. Bit of an ‘Everton Da’ on this because I prefer old school keepers who command their box but I’ve grown to really liking Pickford and grateful for the key role he’s played in helping maintain our top flight status during some of our darkest days.

He’s a top keeper.

Must admit i had my doubts,I remember going up to Sunderland for a night game, funnily enough Moyes was their manager,we won comfortably, none of the goals were his errors but having heard the hype my own thoughts were"too short"!!so I wasn't doing cartwheels when he signed,Christ though he has proved me totally wrong in the main,I honestly think at least a couple of seasons we would have fallen through the relegation trapdoor but for him,for me personally I don't remember enough about Gordon West but from the footage available he looked an incredible keeper so I count him out!!Pickford is only topped by big Nev,I'd stick him ahead of Nigel Martyn who was fantastic for us,just a pity he is not held in the esteem he deserves throughout the nation but hey ho!!!

With the window over, and the dross gone, extending key players starting with Pickford would be HUGE. Sets us back if we lose the talent for free, or are forced to sell good players like Garner just because they are in their last year. If they manage to pull it off, to me its as much of a statement as some of the signings and signals the players have bought in after a few miserable years.

Had my doubts back in the day, ate my hat multiple times - unbelievable keeper and a great personality around the club. Couldn't care less if the rest of the leagues fans don't think he's up to it, if anything that's better

I thought he was turd the first couple of season, and was annoyed by how much extra grace he was given for being the england keeper. But he has improved massively, and i quite like him now. Hes become a very good keeper for us.

He's a very good GK now. Great shot stopper. But IMO he's been indulged when we were rubbish and fighting relegation by letting him dictate how we move the ball about.

Now we have a lot of players very comfortable on the ball he cant be allowed to do that any more. There were signs against Wolves that we were going to play out a bit more. I dont know if that was just because it was against a hopeless Wolves team or whether there's a change of tactics adopted. We'll find out soon enough, I suppose.

If we have footballers in the side, the build up play will start at the back.

If Doucoure, Gueye, Coleman, Tarkowski, and Mykolenko are among your nearest options, HOOOF!
