Today’s Football 25/26 Season

Disaster for the Norn there.

Great win in Luxembourg, and then Slovakia beat Germany.

Some trip for the fans though. Two aways within 100mi apart snd they get to visit the best City in Germany in Köln 😍

Dunno. No guarantee this German side qualifies. Poorest squad I can remember. Even the dire collective of Euro 2000 had a few faded and embryonic greats.

Any coach that continues to pick Serge Gnabry clearly has no clue. And nobody embodies the failure of the national side over the last decade quite as well as Joshua Kimmich. Let's face it, Leon Goretzka is another who was long since found out at international level, yet there he was again tonight. Rüdiger and Tah are the clunkiest defenders this side of Michael Keane. Whisper it: Florian Wirtz is, perhaps, not quite the player some of us thought he would be 18 months ago...

With all due respect to Germany, they should be beating Slovakia & Northern Ireland.

I hope they dont, would be great to see a Giant fall. Toothless yesterday; the aura of Nagelsmann is rapidly fading. A very mediocre home Euros, Bayern not keen.

As for Wirtz, I had my doubts to be honest. Sadly same cant be said about the rest of their signings.

Always thought they were a bit overhyped after their performance at the Euros last year

I just hope that these "big names" get dropped for players who really want to be there and fight

Nagelsmann seemed to be on the right track at last year's Euro. Germany were the only team to test Spain - and would likely have beaten them had VAR done its job. I thought they'd taken strides. But the injury to Musiala, the complete fall-off-a-cliff year of Wirtz, and the bizarre insistence of Nageslmann to play proven failures like Kimmich and Gnabry means Germany will do very well to even be in the US next summer.

Rüdiger and Kimmich are chocolate fire guards. Both are all about "passion" - yet both are routinely on the losing side at this level. It's all very well being good for the club, but international football really sorts out the players who can lift inferior team-mates from those who can't, and these two definitely cannot - not that they should have to! This is Germany we're talking about! Last night eas the first ever away defeat in a World Cup qualifier. That's an incredible record and shows how far standards have now dropped.

Germany needs a complete clear-out of the big name failures. The love affair with Iberian football needs to end quickly, too.

If VAR had done its job they might have been knocked out by Denmark in the last 16

Amen. You just perfectly summed up how I think about the situation.

"The supposed journalist Luca Chianti, whose image has been used in football content, remains under suspicion of being a parody account". Excellent stuff - I encourage wide reading and sharing of both articles before they they delete them!

edit: "Fan reaction to the Chianti report" 🤣 🤣 🤣
