I have heard gingers just get banned walking through the door without even seeing the optician - posers with VWs & blanket weed in their private lakes for fishing :D

Is that the pain you mentioned? Is a hyper careful diet a possibility to take pressure off the kidneys? What treatments are available? Any medicine ends up in the kidneys and so the other spectre is antagonised. Rough deal that Joe. :(

My son looked at my prescriptions in my folder as he was ordering glasses for my good lady from Glasses Direct as they are at least 50% cheaper than any hight street optician -

I stated I am ok as Specsavers optician had put no new glasses needed ...

As my son was adding my prescription details - he stated what a clown this optician really was my right eye had deteriorated by full two points so he immediately helped me to pick new frames & put my prescription in as I wear Varifocals - I did ask the optician I seen for my pupil distance - refused - but little did he know Glasses direct have a new App - to help you to get the pupil distance ... for your eyes -


I picked an expensive frame transitional varifocal lenses - free postage & they came brilliant I can see far better in both eyes now as the left eye had some deterioration too - thinking back he did ask me how much I drive - never been asked that before - first time at Specsavers = never again -

I even telephoned them up to se if he had made a bad error - No was the answer -

Please google it - Only optician on a contract with the DVLA !

A test next year?

That should be compulsory - every year - if you want to drive.

The number of drivers over a certain age here in Germany driving the wrong way on the Autobahn is frightening...

Yes I am a honest car driver & get my DVLA reminder every 3 years - which I pass - as I stated the ones who need checking in the UK just stay away without realising the insurance will not pay out ....for them ....

My old next door neigbour many years ago drove a car ex bank Manager - I noticed his car had gone - asked him why - er drove through someones fence & parked the car on their lawn - banned instantly .....could have killed someone ....

Fair do’s mate.

In my career to date (25+ years) I’ve seen many patients who deffo should’ve surrendered their licence way earlier than they did (and in some cases refused to).

The cops often say, 'chuck your licence in or we'll prosecute and take it anyway'. More often than not the elderly individual sees sense.

It's no fun getting old.
