2025/26 Adam Aznou

Sorry, just wanted to talk about this part. Are we going to do a revisionist history where we fancifully imagine that if Moyes resigns, Kenwright decides to sell the club? Id suggest thats an absolutely ludicrous argument to make. Kenwright wasnt just some guy who was voted in as CEO. He literally owned the club, and made it perfectly clear he was always going to run Everton.

Do you REALLY believe that if Moyes had resigned, and fans were upset, that at any point in the past 20 years Kenwright would have relinquished control? No! He owned Everton, he controlled Everton, and made it clear he would not give it up. In his final years he went out of his way to reject suitors until he could find one that would pay him lots of money, AND let him keep control of Everton. When he ran the club into the ground, anger and protests abounded, and what happened? NOTHING. Lest you forget after ALL that went on Kenwright never resigned. He died. You couldnt force him out if you tried, and you did. Giving Moyes fault for this, for winning too many matches and not getting himself fired, is a bridge way too far.
I'm not making that argument, but it is entirely plausible that if Moyes had failed miserably, Kenwright's tenure would have been far shorter. Moyes overperformed given his resources. He gave Kenwright the priceless currency of stability - and credibility. Moyes's competence was Kenwright's shield.

My beef with Moyes is obviously not with his competence. In the circumstances, we were lucky to have him. It's that he leaned into the pluckiness of Kenwright-era Everton and made it seem our natural state - when it was nothing of the sort. He'd have feuds with the likes of Mark Hughes when we'd lose players to better-funded clubs, yet it was Kenwright's running down of the club to keep his hands on the train set that was the issue: not Mark Hughes's disprespect. For me, Moyes is highly competent, but will always be Kenwright's placeman.

Do you know how ridiculously naive that sounds? It's completely laughable. This club was absolutely on its knees when Moyes joined and it had been for a long time. What exactly should he have done differently? Forced Kenwright to sell the club?

Dyche saved this club in the points deduction season...saved us and had us on 48 points for the season with a terrible squad of players full of tripe hounds and malingerers.

The fact that I and some others acknowledge that is to our credit and shouldn't be belittled.

We shouldn’t have been anywhere near the drop zone mate..

Look what Moyes did instantly with exactly the same players…

Dyche is crap and we will be the biggest club he ever manages … just like Bobby

The main dychette polluting a thread about one of our new signings.

Didn’t have that on me Everton bingo card, must admit.

Lids, you hero did so well here that he still hasn’t got close to a new job because no one will touch him for being atrocious, even though we were told he works have his pick 🤣🤣🤣 let the coward fraud die and let’s forget he ever stunk the place out please.

S as for Adam, hope he gets fit and back in the team, I think he could be a real asset for us and our manager, you know, the manager who really did save us.

As was said previously Kenwrights tenure would not have been shortened even if Moyes failed Miserably
He was never going to relinquish control and did whatever he wanted
He sold Rooney to the highest bidder ,sold Ferguson behind his back
The man was a parasite and a stain on the clubs history that will never be removed

Think it was Peter Johnson that sold Ferguson

P
You lost your manager evaluation rights when you tried to convince everyone we needed to stick with Dyche and would be in big relegation trouble if we let him go.

It started way before that, it started when he went all in and balls deep on Benitez.

He’s been “ given the keys to the kingdom “ he said.

We will never forget.
