Levy gone!

In what way have we got above our station? The Euro super league stuff was nothing at all to do with the fans and even then I found it hilarious the likes of Arsenal taking potshots at us for that - only United, Liverpool and Chelsea have more Euro trophies than us and we’re only 1 behind United. Same CL final appearances as Arsenal - our credibility was far stronger than theirs.

The sky 6 stuff - who actually cares about that?
Didn’t mention the Sky 6 stuff.

They’ve gotten above their station as they’re a club who have assembled a squad to win the ultimate prize once every 65 years of their existence, but if you write history off and listen to sky sports news or any national podcast you’d be led to believe that they’re one of the biggest 6 clubs in the country and we’re not, now if you want to judge clubs stature on how much they can rinse their fans because of the location of their clubs ground then yes spurs are bigger than us, but until they win their 10th league title, which no one on this forum will ever witness they will never ever be bigger than us, that is unless you use some sort of metric where being the champions of your country (assembling a squad of 20-25 players that can do what they do better than others) isn’t important because it happened a while ago, an argument I have no time for.

Spurs are a fantastic club, noted for their history with the FA Cup, but they’re not on our level and as said never will be.

Like coming 2nd in a beauty contest a pig won.
Enjoy the glamour.
3 of the sides we played had been in the Europa final in the previous 5 seasons and 2 of them had won it.

6 of the sides we played will be in this seasons Champions league

The final was a poor game, but it’s a myth that the competition is weak, Villa and Forest won’t get to the final this season and they are previous European cup winners

Your issue is with the media not us - we in no way control the narrative, hence being called bottle jobs for only winning 12 of our final 13 games in the 16/17 season.

We’ve nearly always been a cup side although the Levy era nearly killed that. That’s why we have less league titles than Huddersfield but at the same time have 8 FA cups and rank 4th for Euro trophies.

That’s us, we’re happy, all the sky stuff is a load of old balls

You’re right it is, but there’s no way you’ve not taken pride in being talked about in that category whilst much more successful clubs are seen as the other 14. You’ve benefited from the media attention you’ve received, for example you’ll get much more attention for Levy stepping down than we did for Kenwright dying and he did a club worse job with a huge club of English football.

Spurs have always been a glamorous club regardless of success on the pitch - location obviously helps but it seems to run deeper than that - the cup runs help, the push and run football, coming back from the dead against Ajax. The flip side of that coin is getting called bottle jobs for losing 1 game in 13.

I dont know what to say, I couldn’t give a shaky one about any of that personally, it’s just noise.

What would anyone say about Kenwright? He was abysmal, you’ve won nothing for 30 years now, employed the likes of big fat Sam, Lumplard and Dyche, flirted with relegation many times and have neighbours that have won everything under the sun in the meantime. Kenwright has to go down as one of the worst chairmen ever given the size of Everton historically. The truth is the CL era left Everton behind and the gap now is huge, it’s appalling mismanagement.
