I’m not moving goal posts at all, I was covering my back, if I mention anything about DCL the Beto fanboys come at me. DCL Is clearly a better footballer, but that season was the anomaly, unfortunately, so I had to throw in the line that he wasn’t good enough.

All about expectations. How many of the strikers who scored 13 or more were part of a front 2 or 3? Rather than a focal point with 3 behind? Even if Beto scores 13 league goals this season (I doubt) it’s not enough for a striker who can’t hold the ball up playing up front in his own.

Isak, Haaland, Wood, Wissa, Watkins, Mateta. All play as a focal point. You continuously move the goal posts in every facet of this conversation. You just hate him, and it's sad that blues hate their players.

Those players are all 70mil plus strikers. If Beto could be in the same conversation as those players for 20mil we'd have done well. I think he will given the service we are about to start providing him.

Like DCL? Or did he not play under Dyche? One thing is for sure, Beto isn’t capable of putting the performance that DCL did in Dyche’ first game against Arsenal. That’s an absolute fact. DCL didn’t even score that day, but his performance was incredible.

DCL is better than Beto and DCL wasn’t good enough for Everton, so start there. I’m not a scout. Forest signed Chris Wood from Burnley, now despite your nonsense, he’s not a £70m striker, but he’s clearly better than Beto as well.

As said, I’d love Beto to tuck 20 goals this season, but we all know he will do well to get half that, in the meantime I worry about the damage he will do to our results given his atrocious hold up play and given he will be our main solo striker until Jan at least.

I’m putting myself in a position of no win here, if he stinks the place out vs Villa and we lose then I won’t take any joy in that, but I’m sure I’ll be tagged if we win and he plays a pivotal role. Let’s see how this plays out as there’s nothing that can be done now.
