Levy gone!

Commercially our best ever chairman and part of his spreadsheet success allowed the club to build significantly.

Football wise, there are dinosaur dumps that have more knowledge than he did. The master of finding a fiver but losing a tenner.

Some of Levy’s greatest hits:

Replacing Berbatov with Frazier Campbell
Sacking Jose 6 days before the league cup final
Sacking Martin Jol at half time of a Europa game we won 5 or 6 nil
Taking the cost of 2 Spurs shirts given to the chairman of Zagreb off the transfer fee for Luka Modric
Backing Harry Redknapp in the winter window when we were 3rd by buying OAPs Louis Saha and Ryan Nelson
Going an entire summer window without buying a player
Then sacking Poch after he guided us to the CL final despite not buying anyone.

There’s loads more, when it came to football Levy was nuttier than squirrel turd. In a weird way I will miss him. On the other hand, if the rumours of a Qatari takeover are true then with our FFP headroom we could be finally dining at the top table
Newcastle say hi.

I mean it could happen but think just about every club has had ‘rumours’ of a Middle East/ Qatari consortium taking over. Absolute catnip to fans.

Not exclusive to spurs but the way fans would take success no matter the moral implications always makes me feel sick.
We’re probably the biggest draw in town for it though - it’s not like City and Newcastle, we’re already the 9th richest club in world football, more PSR headroom than any club in the league, lowest wages to revenue in the league and European regulars.

We’ve just won Europes second trophy and had a very decent transfer window. It’s not going to take a couple of decades to catch up on the revenue stakes, we make more than anyone on a match day - we just need ownership that are a little more adventurous and a proper football structure.

Rumour is we will be sold inside 12 months.

As for the Middle East money/morals - it’s football, what morals?

The year of the two horse race between them and Leicester for the title has to be a low for them, especially as they ended up third.
To be fair we never got in front at any point and every other side underperformed as well.

Additionally, I see last season as the other side of the coin - a season where if the 3 sides that went down had been slightly better than diabolical we would have been in serious trouble of relegation - instead we win our 4th European trophy and are in the champions league - apparently it’s called Spursy

You were 9 points off. That's not close

Even Rachel Riley off countdown called you bottlejobs
The year we won 12 of our last 13 games and went unbeaten at home all season and then got called bottle jobs for not winning all 13 - not that it would have made a difference

She is meant to be intelligent isn’t she?

Newcastle say hi.
Newcastle went 70 years without a trophy, yo yo’d in and out of the league, CL was a pipe dream and they are based in a northern outpost (I like the place, but it’s miles from anywhere).

Spurs have CL football, the best stadium in the league and top 5 in the world, won a trophy 3 months ago, part of the “sky 6”, played Europe 18 of the last 20 seasons.

Basically it’s night and day - even Newcastle fans would admit that

Point is with the players you had you should have won the title at least once.
Not that season though, Chelsea won 15 games in a row and were 17 points ahead at Xmas. We won 12 and lost 1 of our last 13, finished 9 points behind them and got branded bottle jobs by her.

I wonder what her thoughts were when Fergie blew an 8 points behind lead with 6 games to go - I wonder what her thoughts were after Bilbao - lads it’s Tottenham, have it Riley.

Yes we should have won something with those player - but we should never have been winning Europes second competition last season - swings and roundabouts

Personally I think it's the 64 years without a title that massively blots your CV the most regardless of a few trophies since.
Christ - Leeds and Derby County have won it twice since then.

We’ve never been a league team though, one glorious side in the 60’s and obviously the title in the 50’s.

On the other hand, 8 FA cups and 4 European trophies - Arsenal have only won 1 proper Euro trophy and it was the third tier competition.

I know you lot are proud of your historic titles, but we’re equally proud of our cup pedigree - a record only a few can stand with
