Specsavers older drivers be warned .... Beware .....

Used specsavers once ... it reinforced my determination never to use chains. Brands never get big by being good, in my view ... they do it be nefarious means, or by cutting corners, or by spending a fortune in advertising to creep into "familiarity".

I found a private optician, locally - really interesting fella, who's happy to talk to you and go through the tests. Never tries to upsell nor send nagging letters for your next check up. Cheaper too!

Google it my good lady seen the warning on YouTube - cheap & nasty .....

Been in the news a lot recently.

It'll mean people will stop going for eye tests now for fear of losing their driving licence.

But in a few years, passing eye tests will be compulsory as part of the over 70s, who need to renew every 3 years.

It is a bit iffy that Specsavers are currently the sole DVLA approved, but when it gets to the stage that it's compulsory - loads will be approved, and there will be appeal processes.

I am at the stage where I need to renew my licence every 3 years. I personally believe that an eye test should be compulsory at renewal.

Agism that mate - I have a full Motorbike license - past a transit van test when I was at work - & drove Tractors - plus could reverse a trailer into a parking bay - That is an art as - you use your steering wheel in the opposite direction to reverse a trailer - don't teach your grandmother to suck eggs ... :D

Impressive driving CV that Joey, did you drive getaway cars for the Krays too ?
