TV Series

Just watched King & Conqueror.

It's a massive let down. I was looking forward to this a lot.

It's so far removed from the actual history and some of the choices the writes made to force additional drama into it are just outright bizarre.

The battle with Hardrada doesn't contain Stamford Bridge or even any bridge.

It's mildly entertaining but horrifically inaccurate.
The scene of Edward the confessor beating his mother Emma of Normandy to death with his crown should have been where I stopped but I kept watching...

Agree, much of it filmed in complete darkness as well. I am 3 episodes in, and struggling to stay until the end.

I`m the same mate, I`m really unsure about whether to carry on, as it`s just dull as ditch water.

You can forgive something that`s a work of fiction, but based on historical facts if it`s entertaining, but it`s just dire.

The cast is exceptional too, which makes it all the more galling.

I haven’t even seen season 2 after seeing numerous bad reviews. Is this post more accurate?

It’s a dreadful mess, that’s despite the cast trying their level best to make the most of it.

One of the biggest things that make it a mess, is having three leads, it just doesn’t work at all.

That post makes it sound like it’s a cinematic masterpiece like Collateral, it’s not.

As others have said, Alien: Earth is awful. Bunch of shocking actors playing incredibly dislikable characters.

I’ve got genuinely no idea how it has received such good reviews (unless it somehow turns into the greatest show ever made for the remaining however many episodes).

I’ve been sticking with it and it’s getting worse. In episode 5 they recap what happened on the ship and everyone is either a complete idiot or unbearable. They’ve written a part for an apprentice engineer on the ship, responsible for repairs and maintenance, and he was the intelligence of a 5 year old. It’s mental writing.

I’ve got to say this is tremendous tv advice.

I’m half way through season 4. It’s really doing it for me. Im going to be gutted when it’s over but then it’s foundation season 3 time, so should be getting my SciFi needs met for some time yet.

Based on COYBL25’s review I’m going to start it tonight. I haven’t started Season 3 of Foundation yet. I thought that last season of it was excellent. Especially the episode Long ago, not far away. A great back story to the entire 3 in power scenario. I want to wait till that’s all out I think to start it. Same with Invasion, only 2 of that out for now so I ought wait a bit longer. I’m actually enjoying alien earth and I did watch the first chief of war earlier and did enjoy it but I’m hankering for some more good sci fi

Like I said, don’t be put out of by the first series, just get through it and then the whole thing becomes fabulous sci-fi 👍
