The Oldies Thread

Being the antediluvian that I am, I always use cash ; what do you use predominantly ?

I'm 76, I never carry cash. Pay for everything with a credit card. Pay it off every month of course. I usually get over $1,000 back at the end of the year.

I tend to use a card and can't be done with the struggle they seem to have with phones half of the time. Cash is best though!

Everyday needs like supermarket shopping i mainly try to use cash.

When it comes to the things I just want, then the Debit card comes out.

I don't trust myself with a card on everyday needs, actually I dont trust myself with a card on anything, my eyes take over my brain and you just swipe without thinking the actual cost..

Covid played a big part in that, as places didnt want cash..

I use cash in the newsagents and the bookies, everywhere else it's paid on the card (which is then paid off monthly, without fail).

Still got mine smokeless coal plus logs which are shipped in from Lithuania - how green is that ? my fire runs all the hot water - Plus 8 radiators a fantastic investment on my mortgage in 1987 - oh & I was told North Sea Gas would never run out ......

I have gravity feed for hot water & upstairs radiators & a pump to heat downstairs too -

My sweep came last week & stated he was mad busy & a young couple had just had the exact same fire fitted & they think its great ...

Plus heat pumps how can they be green - they run of electricity provided by Gas ?
