2025/26 Nathan Patterson

I honestly think its a shame he didnt take a loan to a lower league to get some confidence and playing time. He just doesn't look a natural athlete to me so dropping down and a slower paced league could have been the answer. Hope he makes it
Think it's been a combination of circumstances, constant change of manager, club in consistent threat of relegation, unfortunate and untimely injuries at crucial times in his development.
Patterson being a raw talent that really needed to be carefully guided towards playing regularly for Everton, but the fee dictated that he should be going straight into the side and ready to go, the evidence seemed to show(before he arrived at Everton) that he could be ready, due to him showing up impressively in his few senior appearances for both Rangers and Scotland with his energetic rampaging runs and also scoring for both club(in Europe) and Country(World Cup qualifier)
He's been unlucky with the timing of his move to Everton and what happened within the club shortly after his arrival which was compounded by his seemingly endless injury problems, hopefully Moyes can find a way to mould him into a regular reliable RB for the club.

If not... then you and your fellow doubters can always have the slightly sad satisfaction of saying "I told you so!"

I agree with this mate.

The issue for me though, is he's had a few managers now and basically they haven't fancied him. When it's one manager I tend to think it may be on them. But you can see Moyes really wants to give him a try, but just doesn't see it.

It's a shame, as he's a great age, and honestly I always like to see Scottish lads do well because our our historical ties to Scottish players. If he could go back to Rangers, I do wonder if that might be the best move for him. I think Chermiti will be a great signing for you guys!
You're probably correct and he'll end up back at us in the future, hope he gets a proper chance under Moyes though as there is a player in there... Somewhere!

As for Chermiti, strange signing for us, as nobody seems to know anything about how good or bad he might be...
Except Thelwell!

Not been impressed with Thelwells dealings so far! 😕

It doesn't seem to be working out so far, but I'm not convinced by Martin.

I think Chermiti will do very well, he needs games. I think he has a higher ceiling than Beto, but needs games. I can imagine he will.be too big and powerful for the SPL.

Martin is a fraud, doomed to inevitable failure soon.

Hope your right about Chermiti and Martins (eventual) successor gets the benefit of Thelwells obsession!

keep saying I say available, but:

keep referring to chat gpt but:

So selectively missing out aspects of whats said is or isn’t misquoting?

Please, show me the more details of what you have?

Well if it’s false then google and chat gpt are wrong. And how does that anecdotal evidence disprove anything??

Why don’t you come back with real stats, I have more details - but if you think it’s false then drill into it and let’s see details

You say Dave was chatting horse excrement but you are doing the same and making stuff up.

Answer the question first - is selectively missing out aspects of what I’ve said misquoting?

Then I’ll move onto one of your points - do managers put players on the bench who aren’t fit.

Then we can tackle the extra details, then we can dissect what Dave said in his original post which, vs facts, alludes to him chatting horse excrement.

this is like arguing with my Mrs.

Ive not misquoted you at all. I will requote what you said again for you.
Approximately 73% of Lampard’s games as Everton manager Patterson wasn’t properly fit or available (32/44)

Of the Games Patterson was actually fit/available for ≈ 12 - he played in 10 of them.

When he was fit, Lampard picked him.

So yeah let’s look at what you’ve said and why it’s total horse excrement.

The real stats are that when Lampard joined he had Patterson on the bench as an unused sub 7 times before he did actually get injured.

In between him sitting on the bench being an unused sub he started the 5th round game against Boreham Wood and got subbed. That was his only first team action that season. 45 mins.

He was on the bench, ergo he was available to play. You said out of 12 games he was available for Lampard he played in 10. That stat is wrong.

You said Chat GPT and Google gave you false information. Please before you show me the extra details, how did the search engine Google get it wrong?

You missed out ‘google’ whilst over citing ‘chat gpt’, and you missed out ‘fit’ when citing ‘available’ - that is omitting a salient part of points made - if you don’t think that’s misquoting then we allude to differing standards, but I’ll use your standard and accept your earlier apology. Thx.

Mate, Lampard just didn’t fancy him as a player when he first arrived. In the following season he had him in the team.

I’m not sure why anyone would bother disputing it.

Anyway, we need him, so hopefully he steps up when he has to this year.

When Lampard became manager he was new to the league, adapting to new surroundings, and most importantly Coleman was fit.

Dave’s whopper of a story annoyed me. And now I’m down a rabbit hole of having an argument with seemingly my mrs who twists about and mis/partial-quotes - NGL I’ve gone full pedant - that shizz gets my back up 😂.

Anyway he’s apologised (😉) so I’ve moved on 😂

Btw I don’t think Patterson is good enough, but he’s here.

You used them words.

In my last post i included your full quotes of what you said.

I defined what i thought available was and asked you explain why Google got false information.

You asked me to come back with the real stats, so I have.

You said you had more details to show?

All i see is hyperbole and a jackanory story.
